Has this always been a thing? It makes absolute zero sense to be able to root a target that’s flying/moving MIDAIR by roots that come from the ground? Think it’s retardedly stupid that this is a thing. Lets root a flying target midair and then use the Net-o-Matic 5000. Blizz is just enabling trolls at this point. I did however camp and repeatedly kill the druid that thought this was so cool because it pissed me off and I think it’s stupid they can do this.
Get rekt for turning on war mode but trying to escape every fight on your flying mount.
And I bet you repeatedly killed him because you were totally not mad to come into the forums and cry about a good feature.

I noticed the mechagon guards could net/root me while I was mounted. Someone took a shot at me in rustbucket and suddenly I was in combat while mounted and it doesn’t matter who starts the fight the guards will go after both players.
I don’t think any class/spec ability can fully root a mounted, flying player.
On one hand its kind of lame that the town guards are as strong as they are, but I can also see their necessity.

Sometimes you can get rooted if you were on thr ground and moved up after they casted it

I’ll jump up and get a slowfall from my mage buddy and disable spam the people that stay in the air to keep them still while the mage and boomkin with us blow him up from the air
During Legion, I randomly rooted people in the air pretty much on CD with Ailuro Pouncers. All without leaving birdform.

Crazy to advocate to take away the only mechanic that forces people to either fight or die instead of running every time they see someone.
I have yet to unlock flying, but i grip/chains someone and then net them before they can get away works very well

Camping a druid? like he wouldnt just rez mid air and fly away in flight form before you could do anything if he was actually getting camped and couldnt 1v1 a dh
I mean with a dh cant stealth away that easily and going into flight form if he is talented for the glaive slow and acts fast enough he can dismount you

The net should be an instant cast with no cooldown and also disable DH gliding. Then a druid wouldn’t need to root you, and you wouldn’t have to complain about it being OP. Problem solved.
