Roleplayers lost in BfA

So ignore it? Cleanse it if it bothers you?

Yeah, we should have that by now.

Don’t need them. Spaghetti code probably couldn’t handle it anyway.

No what?

/emote.

And thank dear Elune for it.

Then don’t. Swap out your gear for RP.

I am very much against only surnames. It’s too limiting and not all races use them. What people should be asking for is the option for a space, hyphen or apostrophe. That covers the surnames and many more options.

I don’t want to see the naming system limited, because you know they won’t make it like Old Republic with options. Though, I honestly hate having some of my characters as part of my Legacy in Old Republic. They don’t fit.

I don’t actually care how they do it, but letting people use space would be a good solution. A space is just an invisible character anyway.

I agree. It only worked in EQ because the GM would change the their surnames to match. That’s literally the only game mechanic involved as far as I could tell.

I feel like TRP and a little bit of imagination remedies your complaints just fine.

Vulpera are a big boon for horde RP.

I think corrupted gear can also be good for RP. I have actually put on too much corruption by accident once and had to constantly run away from N’Zoth minions. It was fun for a bit.
I wouldn’t mind housing where you can buy a place with your account and assign 5 toons on your account to hang out in there, and give access to other players or guild etc. To enter your house when not locked. The houses could be mansions with enough gold or just a condo in an apartment building, which would have a lounge. A guild could also buy up a condo building and then players could buy their rooms in it if they want. I would like to see a name plate on the door that you can edit, and most of the housing not instanced on the outside within reason. For example, you could roam through town and see the name plates. Once inside it’s instanced.

good, something good from bfa atleast

They’ve forgotten them for the last 15 years, what would change now?

They have all those things.

My Sylvanas loyalties run deep in my RP! Even my VE is a Sylvanas loyalist who was studying the void on her behalf when the void change happened and he REMAINS loyal to the rightful Warchief of the Horde, Banshee Queen of the Forsaken, Fallen Defender of Quel’thalas, Destroyer of the Helm of Dominiation, BREAKER OF THE PRISON OF AZEROTH!

But yes I want an estate in Eversong Woods! My SWTOR Sith have a an apartment in Dromund Kaas capital of the Sith Empire and it is VERY luxurious I will tell you that!

You get a 2 seater white chocobo mount and access to each others banks iirc in ffxiv. Also a ceremony you can invite friends to.

Why not? /10chars

That part isn’t true, you do get a ring that lets you teleport to each other though, along with the mount. And with the ones you pay for you get the outfits that you can dye.

My FC in ffxiv has a chocobo shaped house in limsa lominsa with each of us having our own rooms, trophies, garden, chocobro stables and all.

Would be neat to have guild houses on wow, and more social stuff overall.

Half the time I just logged in to garden, fish, and feed/train everyones chocobo

Oh ok, it’s been a while. :+1:

You’re a decade too late. Transmog was the only thing RPers will ever have in this game for ourselves.

We’re such a small subset that it’s not worth spending the time to development new features just for us.

I wouldn’t go holding your breath for anything special.

No one is forcing you to use corrupted gear, so vehemently against it, just cleanse it, or keep a seperate set to wear when you are RPing (you know, like we all used to do before transmogs where a thing, but now its easier than ever since you can just get a set of greens and mog it to whatever look you want)

Player housing is never gonna happen, too much investment for something that realistically doesn’t actually add that much gameplay wise. although I would love to see guild halls become a thing, kinda like a combination of garrisons and class halls. also much more likely since its something that would be used frequently by all guild members. if you REALLY want personal housing that badly, you could even make a 1 person guild and use it as a personal house hell, would even make the “housing” account bound since you could invite your alts to the guild as well.

Customization is coming.

Last names aren’t necessary, TRP fills that gap nicely enough, so no need to spend development time on it.

no choice??? seems like you got plenty of choice, you just don’t LIKE the choices you have. but thats a personal problem.

NPC stances? don’t even know what you mean by this, I can probably count on my hands the number of times i’ve seen npc’s use stances that we can’t and most of those are VERY situational. (bwomsandi leaning against a wall is the only one that springs to mind actually)

In game marriages, what exactly would this even look like? I mean nothings stopping you from just RPing your IG marriage, and there are rings you can use for that, including that one you can even transmog that shows up visibly, and you can just change last names to match in TRP (or not, since not all married couples IRL even do that)… so again, what would this even add to the game, how would it change anything, and why would it be worth the development time?

I sympathize, but sadly this is a lobby based multiplayer game. All the effort gets put into Raids. The open world only seems to exist as a means to level and then funnel people into raids. I’ve always found the RP elements of the game sorely lacking. And it’s only gotten worse and not better. Professions have really fallen off. They are such a mess now, with little to no value. Blizzard doesn’t seem very good at horizontal progression. It’s doubtful if there will even be any meaningful improvement.

Idle poses/new animations probably. It’s pretty ludicrous that my zandalari characters just stand there and don’t even have idle animations at all.

I don’t think the RP community is really their priority.

Rather, the game is.
