All of us forced to use “corrupted gear”… still no player housing, no customization, no last names, no choice, no NPC stances, no in-game marriage.
Please do not forget the RP community in 9.0.

Sadly RP is the part of WoW Blizzard doesn’t care about. The last time they gave us anything was in Cata with Transmog and making a small zone that had no NPCS (Ruins of Gilneas). I would love if we could have last names, more emotes, etc. but until it’s brought up at a Blizzcon Q&A they won’t have it in their minds.
I doubt that. Most RPers did not go to Classic Wow, and I can list off many reasons as to why. They don’t like to level, there is no transmog, in order for them to get good looking gear they have to raid, etc.

Aside from corruption, how are any of those problems unique to BfA?
Edit: I don’t read gud. That said, I disagree with adding pretty much any of that stuff to WoW.

Aviela, as an RP’er, you know as well as I do that RP’ers ignore 90% of what’s going on in the actual game. We don’t go around and nuke gods, we don’t do any of that. You can separate yourself from the corruption gear.
Last names are handled by TRP. Same deal with in game marriages. Customization is coming in shadow lands, player housing is never gonna come.
NPC stances will come eventually (I hope). Stop complaining just to complain.

As an avid roleplayer in four different MMOs for 14 years… I don’t need half the stuff you listed in order to roleplay.
Player housing isn’t a necessity. Not all races use last names. And this game doesn’t need to be turned into your personal soap opera with a marriage system.
You’re a roleplayer. Use your imagination, use TRP and roleplay your freaking marriage.
I also have no idea what this “no choice” stuff is you’re talking about.

As for corrupted gear it can be cleansed.
RP players have managed with out surnames all along, though there are profile mods that can help enhance this. Marriage is fine from a player driven event view. I guess I don’t understand why there should be a game system here when the players can do that on there own.
I would think that the garrison in Warlord’s could be used as makeshift housing for to groups, but we have never had housing either.

While roleplay did suffer this expansion, its actually more closely related to the story as opposed to any of that other nonsense OP mentioned.

I absolutely hate corrupted gear and I don’t use any. All 25 of my characters have 0 corruption and 0 corruption gear on. Sure it sucks a lot having to vendor pieces on my characters that have not done the cloak quest line. I had to vendor a 40ilvl upgrade today because it had 75 corruption and I don’t even have the cloak to cleanse it.
We don’t have saberon but its about to get CATTY in here.

Blizzard hasn’t cared about role players or role play realms in years. As much as I’d love housing in wow I can’t see this team NOT screwing them up. Flying and housing don’t fit into their views because they don’t fit into a spreadsheet. The only reason we’re even allowed to fly is they know subs would tank if removed.
Housing would be fun but you’d need to get someone who also liked it on the dev team.
As a roleplayer myself, I feel it’s just sad on Blizzards part that we even need to use an addon to what should just be a basic feature. It would also help non-rp’ers as well, as it would greatly expand the available naming pool.

The only thing I can think of that they added were some of the transmog changes. Which are very small step in the right direction.

RP is just as much apart of the game as PVP. You don’t even have PVP servers anymore, and there are massively populated RP servers. PVPers get WAY more content than RPs, so complaining about them getting something is just sad on your part.

We definitely need last names.
I know for RP purposes we have addons but good lord it can take me almost an hour to find a lore friendly name on Moon Guard or Wyrmrest. And yes, I get creative with it.
Let us do optional last names, hyphens and apostrophes to create unique, lore friendly names.
I know, I know, potential for abuse blah blah but other MMOs have allowed these for ages. Just crack down on name violations.
