Roleplayers Exposing Players/Minors to explicit content in Public Chat/Major Cities

IIRC you can report for content in RP addons. I have seen CS posts about this.

if someone is attempting to skirt the rules of the game using an RP addon, that is reportable.

If somthing in their addon is inappropriate. There is a report function built into it that you can report with. If somthing was said in public, right click and report and move on. Nothing more you can do other than place them on ignore

Thank you for the feedback.

Oh, yeah. Theyā€™ll never stop ERP. That isnā€™t going anywhere. They just wanted to clean up the public channels.

It is. These arenā€™t consider to be public channels.

TBH children shouldnā€™t be playing games where other people can interact with you in chat and stuff. If you care about this kind of problem, thereā€™s no real way to stop it except wait until they are older or turn off chat.

Iā€™d give this comment 38 hearts if I could

  1. Report
  2. Ignore
  3. Do not engage with them

And thereā€™s this, too.

We agreed to the EULA, to follow both of these Codes of Conduct while in game, as the forum CoC also applies in game.

Right there, in black and whiteā€¦

I agree.

The problem is the preponderance of it, and how it seems a large amount of player attitude isnā€™t even ā€˜report and move onā€™ but enables it!

The fact that I can see it in any quarter now and major parts of the city, daily, means that either

1.) It is no longer against ToS
2.) Players are not making reports
3.) Blizz is doing nothing about it

And Itā€™s hard to see which is most true. This should not be a normalized thing now.

so you know for a fact you were reported and no action was taken?

or are you just thinking that since you got away with it, it must be fine?

A guildy reported everyone in a fight but they also participated in the erp sessions so maybe that is why nothing happened

Report, block, move on. What more do you think you should be able to do about it?

Nobody here can do anything about it either.

This is a big step more players should take when they see things against the ToS. not just for RP templates, but in general.

Reporting works.

I see this, occasionally in Moonrunner and Azgalor servers. It doesnā€™t last long. Usually thereā€™s a few players going back and forth, then a random player will insert themselves with two wordsā€¦ reported and ignored.

Iā€™m not sure what happens after that, because I usually donā€™t stay around to find out because Iā€™m actively playing the game.

However, if I do get back into the chat areaā€¦ itā€™s just spam about Mythics and crafting. The conversation has stopped.

This is nothing new. Barrens Chat was far worse than anything Iā€™ve read in Trade Chat.

If itā€™s /say ā€¦ report and ignore. Iā€™ve been subjected to some inappropriate /say stuff. I report and move onā€¦and laugh.

Correct me if I am wrong, but under options some where isnā€™t there a button to enable / disable curse words and what not?

Yesterday, a roleplayer was writing about things theyā€™d do with a banana in ,an inappropriately way.

This would not be blurred.

There is. Thereā€™s also a way to disable Trade Chat.

Report that player.

There is really no more that needs to be done on the playerā€™s end here.

There is but this is not a reason for people to break ToS by using inappropriate language. Itā€™s an added layer for players who do not wish to see the language used by those who willingly break the ToS on language.

There is a chat filter but it does not matter when it comes to rules. The filter is just there to be an additional barrier for people who donā€™t want to see it. It can still be reported even if the filter is on

The language filter isnā€™t an excuse to use language. This has been the same excuse for nearly a decade and has been the same answer for nearly a decade.

If you want, Iā€™m sure I can find Vrakā€™s or Orlyiaā€™s same responses on it from more current times.

But this thread isnā€™t even about mature language. Itā€™s about sexually explicit behavior.
