ok, long as i reserve the right to not heal said rogues, its my character, and i did take the time to level it and train the skills
As edgy and witty as you’re trying to be…really? As if rogues go out of their way to level this “class exclusive” profession. Oh man, they have to open boxes while they level by clicking on it. Rough. They even open other people’s and get free gold from it. Insane. How dare I ask them to open locked boxes for the group? I mean they worked so hard at that skill. Give me a break dude. Most mages offer free ports to cities after dungeon runs, or at the very least they open one to a city of their choosing and allow people to utilize it. That costs money for them to do. It’s arguably much more taxing for them than a rogue opening a box. Scratch that, it’s not arguable. It just is. If a rogue said they get the lock boxes, that’s fine as others have stated but don’t expect me to take you. I mean what leg do you have to stand on? What leverage does a rogue have? Dps? Hah. Not the best aoe. Not the best st. No group utility apparently. I never once look for rogues, I just happen to take them if they want.
Not quite comparable because mages have to pay for reagents to cast portals.
Lockpicking doesn’t cost the rogue anything but time and it’s a class skill most rogues level as a matter of course.
When you join a group you should be prepared to provide class-based services. It’s nice to be offered a tip or reimbursement for your costs, but it’s not necessary.
But that’s not very rogue-like
I’m a rogue and leveling lock picking is not hard nor do I have to take a break from actually leveling to level it. it’s stupid easy. Kick them and replace with someone actually wanting to fulfill their entire class role in the dungeon.
You seem really worked up about someone having the gall to want to enjoy the fruits of their efforts skilling up a class specific profession. Do you browbeat miners and herbalists as well?
Just boot the bootlickers. They are bottom feeders anyway.
No, you boot the rogue and then call in your rogue.
I had close to 300 days played in vanilla. If memory serves, I can’t recall a single time where a rogue insisted the chest was his or asked for gold to open it. I don’t know what’s been going on here lately.
Absolutely with you on this. I have never in 15 years of playing this game heard of this being a thing. It’s hard to tell if these are joke threads or not.
I usually opened chests without a fuss, unless I didn’t like some people in the group.
Why not the other way around? When you ask for dps just be clear that rogues are forced to open chest for free to enter the group, mage are forced to create food for free to enter and go on with any other thing you want to force others player to do. I assure you that the time that it take to get the dps will increase sustainability.
I have no problem on skip that kind of group in the same way I do with others things that I don’t like, like groups that reserve drops, mats or recipes, even if it is no use for me, I don’t esteem that attitude.
There’s an assumption that a person will do what they can for the group. That includes Mage food/water, Warlock SSs, and Rogue lockpicking.
It seems that some people don’t assume that or this kind of treads shouldn’t last forever. If OP want people to be crystal clear, IMO is better the one asking for it is the first in doing it, before pretend that others (that be real, most dont read forum) do.
I mean you assume when you pick up a healer that they’re going to heal.
Why dont you play rogue yourself then?
It is 100% rogue decision whether to open the chest and SHARE the loot or keep it for themselves…
It’s also the rest of the party’s decision to boot them for being greedy.
Or you can just say you dont have it and unlock it later when dungeon is done <3
This is why the party leader should always reset instances after the run ends. The greedy Rogues always have fanmail for them after.
You’re wrong dude give it up.
