Rogues: Sharpening Stones > Instant Poison?

Apparently, Adamantite Sharpening Stones are the meta PvE Rogue weapon application (over Instant Poison) because applying a single stone to your MH weapon actually increases damage to BOTH weapons and not just the one it’s applied to. Interesting.

What poor Rogue is raiding without an Enhancement Shaman?

True. But even then, applying it to your offhand instead (with Windfury) would also apply to both weapons! That’s insane! Plus, there’s not always going to be a Shaman in 5-10 mans. Interesting to find that Instant Poison is 100% obsolete in any situation.

I’m pretty sure it’s Deadly Poison in the OH for anything that isn’t dead quickly. It does more overall damage if you can keep it applied.

Interesting to point out for bosses that have frequent target swaps or immunity, though.

Deadly Poison for 30+ second lifespan, yes. Instant Poison has always been the go-to for MH whenever WF isn’t available though (or so we thought). It’s just weird to find out that it’s COMPLETELY useless after all these years, lol.

True point. If you’re the unlucky Rogue without an Enhancement, then it’s nice to know about this.

Poisons are much cheaper than stones.

The limited supplies of stones naxx event applied to ranged weapons too.

Poisons pull ahead again in WOTLK. Just another broken thing they had to iron out.
