SP has a stun? What’s it called?
Psychic horror. It also does damage and has a ton of healing. One day tuckyb will figure out that’s what he wanted to play all along!
Great now I gotta go log on and see if I have it barred. Lol
Update: Apparently the guy’s build I stole does not use it for BGs. Nor does he use Angelic Feather, which seems kind of crazy, but it is what it is.
“It absolutely was” - no it absolutely wasn’t. there were almost no feral victories in the grand finals all 4 seasons of dragonflight. That is a fact, not based off opinion, anecdote or feelings like you are referencing “I had quite a bit of success playing feral+boomy”.
“It was okay to nerf feral” - yes it was and is. And the best way to do this for any spec is in a way that doesn’t ruin what’s fun about the class.
“Feral and rogue both disproportionately dominate in those areas” - as I said throughout my post, both feral and rogue need to be brought in line with a combination of nerfs + utility and cc being brought back to other melee. Just nerfing maim only leaves us in a rogue only meta, and probably leaves feral worse off than when both maim and kidney were 20 cd because again, ferals stun power is more concentrated into maim, and is a cheap shot nerf realistic? probably not because it ruins triple cheap shot by turning the second cheapshot duration into 1.5, becoming out of sync with rogue’s 1 sec global cooldown. So for those saying “just nerf cheap shot too” that’s probably not going to happen. At least not for sub. Nor do I like that approach to class balance. Just because rogue has been the most consistent doesn’t mean I want them to nerf the fun out of the class as a way to solve this problem. Same for feral. its that kind of change that has ruined classes like ret and war for years.

Wins in AWC is a HORRIBLE metric to determine the strength of a spec. There were SEVERAL ferals who got R1 across several comps including but not limited to feral+ret/dev/hunter (all specs)/lock/spriest/mage AND first time r1 ferals so it’s not just longtime mains “making it work”.
Also, are we just forgetting that month where rip and primal wrath were so insanely overtuned that EVERYONE in that AWC cup played feral and Wizk -the NA famous SP- rerolled feral so his team would have one?!
Not only are you being disingenuous to try and justify your claim, you’re objectively wrong.

Just nerfing maim only leaves us in a rogue only meta, and probably leaves feral worse off than when both maim and kidney were 20 cd because again, ferals stun power is more concentrated into maim
We just pretending like cyclone doesnt exist or that feral needs less uptime than rogue to do damage or what?

I want them to nerf the fun out of the class as a way to solve this problem.
I agree with this part 100%, but at the end of the day what is fun for one player is not always fun or fair to the rest of the ladder and it’s oftentimes much more reasonable to nerf an outlier than redesign the entire game balance.
You’re fighting a very uphill battle here but I do commend your desire to want nerfs not to hit fun for anything.

Nas already talked about this but you cannot judge AWC as a metric for meta. AWC meta is usually different than what we see on ladder, and also you dont need to be AWC viable to be meta on ladder either. A good example is s4 of DF, ret/war/fw was very meta (and the reason for my only “glad” lol) but it did not win AWC nor was it seen often in AWC.
A good way to determine if your spec is actually good at the high end or not is who is getting R1. Are there new Enh players getting R1? How many Enh r1 spots are there? Or is it only long time Enh players getting R1 aka making it work despite the fact its not great?
Enh rarely ever has AWC representation and its usually just Saul, but it has been meta before and has been an S tier spec before despite not being in AWC during those seasons. It just isn’t an accurate way to depict what is actually very good, as your spec can be very good but not AWC viable.

Here are the current exact stuns per minute (spm) for feral, and estimates for rogue (estimates cdr and modest estimates of # of stuns used during subterfuge)
stuns per minute (in seconds):
feral: 27 sec
Assa: ~30 sec
Outlaw: ~31.6 sec
Sub: ~50 sec
feral (30 seconds cd maim): 22 sec
I am not even sure what you are saying here.
Stuns per minute implies the number of stuns per minute, why is this expressed in seconds?
