Rogue Spec question

Sup guys,

I’m about to hit lvl 70 on my rogue here soon. And I wanted to know what’s the best spec to roll with?

What are you planning to focus on?

To put it simply combat spex for your pve needs and either mutilate or shadowstep build for pvp

Like Malphas above me said, it all depends what you mostly plan on doing.

Combat is pretty strong in raids and even though I did 5man as full Sub the few times I ran with other (combat) rogues in 5man dungeons I would get beat on dps.

If you like to world pvp you would benefit greatly from going either Prep Hemo Spec with ShadowStep or Cold Blood. Just be aware that Frost Mages will just a little harder to kill if you don’t pick up ShadowStep.

For Arenas it really depends on the comp of your healer in 3v3 or if you going 2v2

Go to silentshadows(dot)net it’s a really cool website just for the Brotherhood of thieves.

Like the two said above, roll combat for pve and 20/0/41 for pvp

Combat was already the best raid spec in classic and still is here. Assassination has gotten better since classic but still can’t compete with combat. Even if you want to stab bosses… you’re still better off using backstab with combat as opposed to mutilate. You’re not going to see many rogues using mutilate because there’s just no reason to even have it in this game.

Fighting players in classic revolved around 21x21 (cold blood + prep). It can still be done here but shadowstep has effectively replaced cold blood. It’s just far more useful to have and crits are reduced by the resilience stat anyway. With a deep subtlety build, you can maximize your regular hits.

I use a cute hybrid spec of 13/35/13 on my rogue. I get adrenaline rush but also relentless strikes and camouflage+dirty tricks for pvp. It gets the job done, and I don’t have to pay for respecs all the time like some people
