Gonna start with a rogue when classic drops do which faction and race is best?
I like horde but if alliance will be dominant then I will do that side.
Horde:
Orc for PvE mastery.
Undead for PvP mastery.
Alliance:
Human for PvP mastery.
Night Elf for PvE mastery.
(I could be wrong.)
Both factions have their ups and downs but imo Horde will never let you down.
Close but I would likely take …
Orc for pvp ( I just love that stun resist )
Human for pve or pvp
Just my opinion. I am sure the theory guys have tested this to exhaustion and have the perfect combos.
Orc is also very strong with PvP. 25% chance to resist stuns. So Horde is
PvE = Orc
PvP = Orc/undead
For alliance
PvE = Human. Easily.
PvP = Gnome or Dwarf.
The performance differences between the races aren’t substantial enough that they should decide what race you play. Just pick what you like the most.
More like Orc for PvE and PvP. Undead if you want to “look cool”.
Will of the forsaken is useful vs priests and warlocks. (2 classes)
Hardiness is useful against rogues, warriors, druids, paladins, and priests (5 classes).
The choice is clear if you’re min maxing.
Female Undead for Rogue, there is literally no other choice.
Over the gnome with pink pom-poms for a hairstyle? I think not.
I’ll take flips n spins over pink pom poms.
humans are the best for pve due to sword specialization plus they get the diplomacy racial. I think the sword spec racial isn’t be all end all though. I did just fine as a nelf rogue on pservers. I was often in the top 3 rogue dps.
Tbh play what you want. It only really matters for pve if you want server first kills and even then its not that much better. Nelfs do get more agility and evasion I believe. I haven’t looked in a while so I could be wrong.
If you want to focus on pvp I’d look at horde. The humans do have perception though which is nice. I’m going nelf anyways. Skill > racials/comparable gear.
Ohh and shadowmeld increases your stealth if I’m not mistaken.
But nelfs can flip out of combat!
For horde side orc and undead are both good for pvp and pve. IMO orc will always be best for pvp though because of the 25% stun resist. There are way more stuns than fears in the game. 25% chance to resist charge, intercept, cheap shot, kidney shot, intimidation, imp concussive shot, imp star fire, impact, blackout, Hammer of justice, trinkets like tidal charm and best of all iron grenades( they are considered a stun). The orc vanilla racial is the most op in the game.
I agree with you. For rep grinds though humans are op. Just can’t overstate how op diplomacy is.
Horde: Troll. You’ll be the only one.
Troll tusks coming out from a Bloodfang Hood look pretty scary. That is reason enough to roll Troll.
Bloodfang is best T2 in the game.
Hey man, if that’s what you want, we all know what kind of things you REALLY need to roll.
Dwarf Female hunter
Dwarf Female rogue
Tauren Female warrior
For alliance, anything but dwarves really.
I like night elves because of their racials and the small stealth bonus along with shadowmeld.
Shadowmeld+stealth is amazing for bg’s and world pvp if used right.
As far as the horde goes, it doesn’t really matter. All dead rogues look the same to me.
Better than pally? I dunno about that. Honestly most T2 is pretty sweet though.
I think it would be more fun to troll the dominate faction. I mean, you are invisible and stuff…
For what it is worth, NE is the hardest to detect in stealth. You basically need Catseye Ultra Goggles if they are PVP spec.
Personally, and this might make me a “filthy casual”… Melee animations are hugely important to me so I’d have to like my race/animations enough to put that kind of time into it. It is THE reason I can’t play Troll Melee, even though I think that are a super cool race.
Some people can’t stand the male NE Rogue animations, I think they look fine. YMMV.
