Rogue question

Yes! I never played pally in vanilla. Judgment is nice but Bloodfang will always be number one for me.

10 storms and nemesis are my favorites.

Most T2 looks pretty sweet and then there’s Netherwind. RIP Mages :sob:

Ultimately the dominate faction will probably depend on server, just like it does now. But for the most part I would expect Alliance to be dominant as a default. Very strong PvE game. And lots of people, with a 2nd shot at vanilla, they want a corrupted ashbringer, or Atiesh, or hand of rag. And if rolling alliance is what they need to do to improve their odds at that, then they are probably considering it.

Sure I think that is possible.

Horde raiding is fine, but I understand that the hive mind thinks that Alliance has the edge.

I’m for it to be a pretty good balance over all. We don’t want Blizzard to start “fixing” the game by introducing goofball queue systems so people can BG.

Undead is cool for lvling solo thoug as you can eat corps to get heath back

That alone will save a ton of money in food.

Undead counters priest and warlock, orc counters other rogues, hunters, warriors, and paladins. Orc is better for PVP when it comes down to damage as well.

Orcs have big muscles and look weird in rogue gear.

Undead Rogues were greatly feared by the alliance. Also Tauren, you can’t see them in the game at all.

I feared getting bored while killing them over and over again because they always pop evasion and then I would own them with overpower and then execute.
It was even more fun when they couldn’t crit me while in tanking gear and they would die to shield bash.

Pally T2 says hi.

Lol I answered that already. I still like bloodfang better. Pally T2 is epic though. If you look at my char’s portrait you will see bloodfang. It helps that it’s my favorite colors.

Doubtful, they would just run away with prep.

doubtful to both, why would the rogue not open with garrote and 5point rupture to mitigate high armor

Imo undead is the only choice for me
Not just because of superior aesthetics, but also because orc’s racial is pure RNG. And I neither want to be forced to depend on RNG to save my life, nor experience the pure frustration of some completely inept clown lucking his way into resisting every one of my stuns if I where to play as alliance and fight against an orc. Fighting against stone form and perception is annoying (I never really ever saw a gnome use escape artist well, and seemingly gnome’s real racial is just being a smaller target to clock on), but at least I can plan around them and react accordingly.

Horde:
PvP - Orc, stun resistance is more OP especially the more rogues that play. Alternatively undead is not at all a bad option as WOTF is pretty massive.

PvE - Orc with Blood Fury correctly used.

Alliance:

PvP - Dwarf if you’re good with stoneforming blinds. Human perception isn’t really bad either for this. Nelf racial isn’t really that great. Gnome racial is good against mages who are your worst enemy hands down but you’ll typically use reflectors and improved sprint oriented pvp builds to handle mages which with having two more ways to break nova kind of mitigates the need for escape artist.

PvE - Human if you’re combat swords which most rogues who raid end up being. If you’re doing daggers it’s a toss up but most people won’t take you seriously if you’re a dagger human given how much stronger swords would be for you given sword specialization.

Because the only way you’ll ever get a 5 pt rupture on garrote alone is if you’re running premed and initiative procs. Though if you’re running premed this means you’re running a really bad talent build because premed is garbage. Most rogues are going to run one of the following:
21/0/30 - CB Hemo
21/3/27 - CB imp gouge Hemo
17/12/22 - Imp Sprint Daggers / Can be fashioned into Hemo, dont advise.
21/8/22 - CB Prep Daggers
Actually I think that still just leaves you at 4, can’t remember if garrote is 2 cp in classic off top of my head.

Doing this is foolish because stuns have a chance to be resisted, especially as a warrior which is the class in this scenario. So with bleeds you’re not able to blind or gouge them to try and get a restealth which is going to be your immediate fallback when cheap shot gets resisted. Once you use garrote, unless they are running a luffa to remove it for some reason, you’ve locked yourself into having no defensive peel outside of using kidney shot defensively (bad idea) for its duration.

Orc for the stun resist or undead to save a ton on food costs.

What it boils down is
what is the OP endgame plans. PvP and PvE? just PvP? just PvE?

Undead if you are going to mess around with PvP. Priest, Locks will own you if you go any other race. Stun resist is nice but too RNG and prefer to have another skill to stick to priest/locks.

Human - Perception for rogues (I absolutely loved to fight other rogues and perception allowed me to get that opener 90% of the time).
Gnome - totally destroy Mages with escape artist.
Dwarf - Stoneform being able to get out of blinds and bleeds and Devouring Plague is really nice.

I was human in vanilla but If I went rogue again for classic. I might try Dwarf or Gnome.
