I was thinking about the best races for rogue and I feel like the general opinion is human for perception and undead for wotf. But perception only really helps for rogue v rogue - granted it helps ALOT in that scenario, but you’d probably find a Druid anyway. As for wotf I feel like rogues already stick to warlocks like glue so is it really all that big of a deal?
I’m thinking dwarf and orc might be hidden gems because of warriors. Warriors are a pretty big threat to rogues because of 1. Bleeds - these make it hard to restealth or vanish and dwarfs can get rid of them. 2. Stuns - especially once warriors get the mace with a chance to stun plus mace specialization, and orcs could combat this pretty well. So I’m just curious about more experienced rogues thoughts here?
Additionally, what are the best rogue weaps for pvp? I’ve heard you’ll always be wanting a dagger for OH poison procs/shiv. But what about mainhand? I remember something about like maces and swords having more consistent dmg, but the fist weapon having a higher range. All of them are the same dps (talking about pvp weaps) but is there a favored set? Thank you for any input!
Undead is obviously excellent and IMO BiS for horde due to locks warriors and priests all having powerful cc that will breaks.
Human as you note is situational, but still very powerful due to both Druid and rogues being a popular choice in arena.
Neither of these racials will secure gladiator that you couldn’t get on another race, but if you’re fighting to get R1, that’s where they do come into making a real difference.
Yes. It is a big deal. Priest and Warrior fears too.
-.- Nothing hidden about the power of Stoneform or Hardiness / Blood Rage. They’re both good options. Orc is the meta for PvE, still. But Undead / Human are still the kings for PvP. You never mentioned Escape Artist, btw, which is incredible for Warriors and Rogues.
Depends. In the old days, AR/Prep with Mace Spec and the Gladiator Maces was the meta for S1 and most of S2. On the Pserver scene, Hemo swords has dominated the meta for 5-6 years. You should have the slow sword MH and the fast sword OH. You will also have additional offhand weapons in your bags you put different poisons on with weapon-swap macros to swap to THAT specific off-hand weapon when you want to shiv that specific poison on the target. You also want an OH that has a weapon chain for you to weapon-swap to against warriors, and in WotLK, shadow priests.
