I know this is probably not the correct forums as this is mostly used to voice displeasure, but I am wondering if there is a rogue discord for Wotlk. I found one for TBC and one for Classic but not Wotlk.
I am trying to find out if I need to be just spamming my abilities and combat as soon as I have enough energy or if I need to be pooling it so I can always have energy if I need to kick, feint, etc. Currently, I have been getting slice and dice out ASAP and then pooling energy until around 80 before casting sin strike/ruptures/evis, etc. so I always have enough if I need to kick or refresh slice and dice (out side of cooldowns but even during adrenline rush, I wait until about 70 energy before casting things unless I need to get Slice and Dice refreshed).
Simonize has a discord. I think he’s a main contributor to the guides on wowhead and is part of the theorycrafters that help balance the sims projects.
If the discord isn’t very useful to you, there should be a lot of rogues who use it that could point you to other discords that rogues use as well.
To answer your question, just spam skills to keep energy spent unless you can’t regen fast enough to kick an enemy spell. Most of the time, assuming there’s a spell to kick in the first place, you’ll regen to 25 before they complete. Reserving some energy used to be a thing because classic/crusade stupidly regened in factors of 20, meaning you had to wait for 2 ticks (40 energy) to pay for kick (25) energy. If you were at 10, 15, or 20, you still had to wait another tick of 20 just to use 25. Wrath took the stupid out of the energy regen so you now regen at a steady rate. No more waiting for another tick of 20 when you don’t need that much to use the next skill.
Yeah, I just couldn’t find them for some reason. Only ones for TBC. Probably because of Firefox or something.
Ahh, that’s where I think I heard it; back in TBC. No guides I was reading said anything about it, I just heard it from some one a long time ago before I really started playing rogue.
