Rocket Shredder 9001 stops mid-air when sky riding. You could be at max speed and this mount will slow down to the lowest speed in an instant randomly. I think it has something to do with the animations. This mount is very cool (currently my favorite), but I have to use normal flying to use it because I will run out of gas often with it due to it stopping and losing all momentum.
