I hate to tell you this but mythic azshara is much more difficult than mindlessly running world quests.
I agree. The RNG ones (with their incredibly low drop rate) are what taking the longest. At this rate, when 8.3 hits, I’ll still be farming the damn Nazjatar zone for rep. :(((((
I am getting super frustrated now. One of my last rank 4s Worldvein still no drop
My worry is that your experience is exactly the best case scenario for Bliz - lots of time spent in game. “Working as intended.”
For cosmetic stuff, heck, I know people who farmed for a mount for years. Just put the rank 4 into that category in your mind.
Frankly I’m more upset about rank 3s being so difficult on alts - null barrier rank 3, which is game-changing for tanks - locked behind about 5 weeks of mechagon garbage. That’s stupid.
I really don’t wanna farm Waveblade Ankoan rep when 8.3 comes out. There will be new stuff to farm that has a much higher priority. Worldvein - ya it sucks - but we’ll be doing island cap until the end of the xpac. But Nazjatar rep… c’mon man!
It took me over 140 paragon cache for the nightfallen mount and I didn’t make a fraction of the fuss you are with your 28.
Worldvein is my only rank 4 haha
You can’t compare the nightfallen mount to a Rank 4 essence.
Do you really believe we’ll be keeping these abilities and essences available when Shadowlands launch?
To a limited degree yes, I imagine they will be somewhat like how legendaries were treated.
Except that the legendaries were actual items for your slot.
The heart of Azeroth, however, is like the artifacts in Legion. My Apocalypse does not give the same benefits it does anymore, outside of being a mog. So I cannot complete any of the feats of strength involving the artifacts.
So I am unsure as to how such a thing will work considering the way it is programmed, and Blizzard is certainly not going to do additional work than necessary.
They said they aren’t depleting these.
Q: What will become of the rank 4 essences we’ve acquired in 9.0?
A: We’re going to try something different i.e. not deplete it. As you move to the Shadowlands, your connection to the heart will be depleted. It will be functional in other areas.
We’ll have to see what it all means then.
I know part of why I havent gone for R4 is due to the thing of temporary powers they’ve been pushing.
Not sure what it will mean then. I hope that it works out though.
Sounds like you should have. Can’t see how anyone would look at a number like that and go, “That seems like a reasonable and good addition to the game.”
Does anyone really look at all of WoW from Vanilla through to WoD and think, “You know what would have made WoW better pre-Legion? Taking some of the mounts and toys that were on vendors and instead putting them inside RNG loot boxes that take repeating 10k rep grinds with no bad luck protection.”
The fact that it took you 140 paragon chests is a data point Blizzard should be criticized for. To be fair, they did get that type of criticism from lots of others and said they’d stop doing that stuff in an interview, and now they’ve slunk back to doing it. (And, though this is a minor point, Nazjatar doesn’t even have the benefit of getting to use mission board account-bound rep tokens to passively gain reputation like the Legion reps did, and Rank 4 essences aren’t account bound, so there’s really no way to leverage alts to assist in the task).
Making a forum post is a pretty low-key form of fussing, and pretty well deserved here. Either Blizzard ignores it, and nothing comes from making the fuss, or somehow they end up noticing it and caring and a small area of the game improves.
It wasn’t required really. It isn’t something you need and I tend to agree that those essences shouldn’t be restricted to being obtained this expansion. Then you can just work on this until you start hating to do it and then stop until you feel like working on it again.
People working on RNG mounts for years and years, RNG and cosmetics or collectibles isn’t anything new and I actually think that kind of content benefits the game because people actually do find value in earning things that way.
It isn’t the making of a forum post that is the fussing bit, it is the continual updates OP is making and I really hope OP gets it soon because I can imagine them bumping up this thread for the next year if it takes them 100 or more.
OP actually expects the game to be changed for them and I think that is wrong - some people like RNG content and will hate those other parts. If one part is made easier for OP then the other parts should be made easier for other people.
I dislike rng just because there is the possibility they cannot get rank 4 worldvein because of it.
It is unlikely but it can occur.
It is a crap system. I understand where RNG is appropriate for like a quest item or some crap. Where you can (with a varying SMALL amount of time) be able to acquire the item. However, forcing people to spend a whole week farming WQ’s, dailies, etc. to “randomly” get a chance for a Rank 4 essence… it’s kinda meh. Just opened my 29th paragon box for nothing.
I feel for you. I went through about the same of Unshackled, the Horde equivalent for Nazjatar.
And j got EXTREMELY lucky on Worldvein. I got it first map out.
I commend you in your patience. I have stopped trying for Mechagon and rarely go there now as I don’t want to go through that RNG again.
I only have rank 1 of Blood and Strife as I have not done competitive PvP since Wrath. And I doubt I will ever get cutting edge to see a chance at rank 4 from EP. At least this tier anyway.
Best of luck to you bud.
Not true. Due to no bad luck protection, at least as of now, it is entirely conceivable somebody might never see this drop. RNG is RNG and completely independent of itself for each attempt.
Just thought I would throw that out there.
The % drop rate isn’t that low that this is ever likely to be encountered.
