TLDR: GDKPs encourage only a couple of RMT parties
GDKPs allow a few whales to provide more than enough gold to raiders and their expenses. A lot of GDKPs recognize this and have to rid out the “leaches” since they have no gold anyways and just want to take from the whales. One argument I usually make is the AH spreads illicit gold too.
RMT hates this. If in a raid of 40 people, 35 know they can’t out bid the other 5 but will still earn more than enough gold for everything else in the game, the RMT market now loses 35 players.
Without GDKPs, anyone who wants to raid will still need to purchase raid materials. But now they are forced into buying the RMT markets bots materials they bot farmed in the open world, or RMT to get the gold for raiding if their time is limited and grinding/farming isn’t something they want to do.
In a non GDKP raid, you’re going to have more RMT members covering the cost of their ticket to raid. And since that ticket is used up each raid without a payout, they have to RMT or farm consistently to raid. GDKPs, you maybe need to RMT once to have the capital to join, but after that as long as you’re not bidding too high or taking unnecessary loot you’ll have more than enough gold from those who may have already done weeks of GDKPs to get capital for gear.
But we won’t see GDKPs back I feel because Blizzard is too lazy in fighting bots and RMT.
That’s Completely false. I’ll give you one example Scenario thats happened many many times.
I buy 10,000 Gold on Temu. After a couple of weeks of talking to them on Discord we set up a GDKP.
We pretend to join a random GDKP in chat. Something drops and the bidding starts. We say some things in chat so Blizzard would never suspect our genius operation. “Wow crazy these whales with so much Gold really want this item, it is BOE so i guess i could be worth this, I’m so lucky i joined the raid I guess I’ll make a lot of money today.”
