Rise of Azshara Preview: Heart of Azeroth

Oh no, all the good ones, and cosmetic ones will come from the higher levels of content. Meaning if you don’t raid Heroic+, clear Mythic 10++, or have high PvP rating you’ll be stuck with random boring crap!

I have 2 max level characters sitting at HoA 19 because I took a few months off. There’s pretty much zero chance I’ll ever hit all the unlocks unless Azerite rewards get quintupled across the board at some point. LOL

So… how does this work for those of us who swap roles on a consistent basis?

Presumably, the same exact way talents do now.

I’m looking forward to the new mounts, pets, heritage armor and Gnomeland. Based on what I’m seeing so far (subject to change based on how it goes live) I’m still planning on ignoring that stupid necklace.

Man you need a snickers.

I’m not going to go out of my way to grind AP to get the Essence abilities unlocked.

I’ll just wait to play with them when they overhaul the talents in 9.0 and bake them in as talents.

How high will the Heart of Azeroth level cap go? I’m at 50 right now on my main.

The new neck system is a big ol, RNG-flavored MEH to me, dawg.

Knowing Blizzard and considering Legion? Probably about 10 levels higher than you can ever hope to achieve.

I really feel like you’re just trying to find something to be upset about. This reads to me like you don’t really know what exactly you want and won’t be happy with anything that Blizzard does.

Seems very rushed and unfinished feature. Per role and not by class AND role ? way to kill customization even more.
65 HoA level requirement is just laughable.
Personally, I won’t even attempt farm these. If I randomly get 1 or two fine, if not no big deal.

Made this post in another thread but I’ll put it here as well:

This system has nothing spec-specific, everything completely generic by role that all dps or all healers can use, regardless of what class. Also nothing that really alters dps / healing rotation nor that makes a spec more exciting to play. Most if not all the major powers are just long cooldowns you hit every couple minutes just like a trinket slot and then forget about it for the next 3 minutes.

This HoA system for 8.2 is like a watered down netherlight crucible or rehashed version of Glyphs. In fact, glyphs were actually more flavorful and unique than these because at least most of them were spec/class-specific.

To word it kindly, this seems like an extremely uninspired and lazy system (to say the least). I don’t mind some stuff to grind AP for (providing it’s interesting and flavorful for my class)… However, who is going to want to put in the effort to grind the AP for boring stuff like this?

The way I would like to see it is, when you switch specs, it automatically changes traits that you selected for that particular spec (like xmog)

Here’s hoping!

Interesting stuff

So functionally, it’s sort of like adding 3 new PvP-style talent slots, but with talent choices as collectables with 4 tiers of each possible talent?

(Or perhaps a better comparsion is one of the old glyph systems since there’s a major and 2 minor slots?)

Please for the love of all that is holy, normalize heart of azeroth levels going into 8.2

Or you could, ykno, remove them entirely. It’s not like they’re actually needed for this system.

The interest is in going out and obtaining essences from various activities. Having it be gated by azerite power is just superfluous, and actually gets in the way of using the system.

I think it would make the system better if they added spec-specific effects. That’s this one’s downfall, like the HoA system in general.
