The only thing that sucks is the puzzle games, I thought they would have learned back in Legion that people hate those
Just a quick tip, I was frustrated with Mechagon too because of how far mobs followed you along with a few other things however I joined a big rare farming group today to spend a few hours doing that and I had no idea about Jetpacks. You can basically already fly in Mechagon, it’s pretty awesome and made the whole experience farming rares much better. There’s a little gear icon on your minimap when you pass by a table you can build, there’s usually always 1-2 up so you can always have the jet pack on. It lasts 20m and you can refresh it for a while at the same table.
I don’t know why but I don’t find Nazjatar frustrating at all. The jelly quest was bad but I completed it after a few tries. The only quest that really had me a bit tilted was the 5 in a row candy crush thing, hated it. You could /reload or keep exiting and entering until you get a good match but man it was annoying. Everything else in the zone has been amazing, I enjoy the dailies and I enjoy the WQs. The zone itself looks fantastic.
Strictly my opinion - on a scale of one to ten I give it about a 4 1/2. Do not like where the story line is going. BFA was promoted as Horde vs. Alliance but its going to be Horde and Alliance vs. Sylvanas and a few of her allies. Not a very original story line and mirrors MoP story line with Garrosh.
Mechagon is a total waste of time and frankly a very poor idea. Going to get my rep needed for flying and never go back.
New Naga zone is way to small…did like it cause easy to get explore achieve lol…but still very small for all the stuff that has been crammed into the area. Not a fan of the new The Heart of Azeroth system at all…to much Legion Artifact Weapon copying. the Benthic gear I don’t mind to much because it does help with how the “loot drop” works in BFA (which is poorly done. IE- I run mythic +10 plus on several toons for the past months and still find myself with item level 400 gear because I constantly get gear from my weekly chest that is not an upgrade so with Benthic gear I can finally replace some of that.
Not a fan of the Follower’s system and having to level them up in order to complete quests or continue the story line. The followers and The Heart of Azeroth upgrades were very poor decisions.
The “Candy Crush” puzzle is very poorly done also and should be removed.
Some of the daily quests are not worth the effort or the little rep you get, I don’t lie spending 30 to 45 mins on a single quest - IE Requisition: More Star Fish.
Some classes that needed upgrades did not get any IE - MM Hunters need a total overhaul. and others that did the upgrades were not the best - IE Demon Hunter Vengeance spec the damage reduction taken abilities and armor bonus increase abilities are nice but not what was needed the most. They need an increase in self healing…along the lines of Blood DK’s.
Over all Patch 8.2 is making Classic WoW look very good and I was one that was not really going to play Classic WoW.
Overall Blizz needs to do something about the game. Since BFA came out I was in one guild - granted it was smaller and had only 12 active members…but out of the 12, 5 left WoW for good to play ESO online, 2 just quit WoW and moved on to another game. That killed that guild so I found another Guild and we have already lost 2 members to ESO and 1 more to another game and as for me I spent the past 3 weeks playing Neverwinter Online mostly and just logged into WoW for raid and Mythic Keystone nights.
what the hell is your battle transmog and how does it relate to your rp mog?
UPDATE TO MY LAST POST:
So today, I did some dailys, did the new world quests, unlocked the “special world quests” then did those. I want to note that I surprisingly enjoy the world quests with the mad mage. I personally enjoy the ‘fun’ world quests such as the candy crush and the tangled thingy but it may possibly be just because they are new. The jelly fish however seem unresponsive and is anoyying after awhile of falling. I like the idea but its hard to see the bubble. Adding new world quest makes them kind of fun for a bit until it becomes an everyday annoyance.
As well as these ‘fun’ world quests, i found a few secret spots hidden away with chests that were locked that I had to do puzzles for. Finding those spots ultimatly made my questing grind more fun because it took away from the main quest for a minute while I went and did these little mini games. It slowed down my questing to a point that it actually made it seem a little more fresh and fun. I got excited when I saw those and I think they really helped me to enjoy a otherwise fairly boring world quest adventure.
I also got my follower to rank 3. Which to my surprise, unlocked more quest line which was a great feeling knowing that i had more content to do.
I also think I have another part of the war campaign to do now too but i got to tired to start it tonight. Im happy that i had enough fun today to slow down and just adventure Najatar enough that I still have content to do tomorrow.
Long story short, I enjoyed today a lot more than I enjoyed yesterday. Im still not happy with HOW 8.2 is being released. This 8.2 pre patch feels very rushed and unfisinished, i will stand by that the whole time. However, It felt a little more alive today. but Im happy to say i really enjoyed my experience today. I hope this happy experience can last 2 more weeks though until full release. I unfortantly dont think it will.
Side note: I LOVE the mob scaling and the density that others are talking about. It makes me feel like i actually killed something important. Obviously dying can be anoyying but it should be apart of an rpg. It gives us a nice progression feeling when we can finally kill the mobs easier.
I disagree, let people work for something. Do not listen to these people please…
Well Rustbolt Resistance faction is making me want to quit the game tbh…
I’m posting an update now that I’ve spent more time in Nazjatar, and talked to my husband about his experience in depth.
My husband does like Nazjatar, but was incredibly frustrated with some of the world quests. His biggest complaint was the lack of instruction for what can be quite difficult quests. One in particular (Arcane Pylon) he tried multiple times, looked up online, watched videos for, and still had issues completing. He said it went on too long and was very difficult with lag. He also wasn’t a fan of the jelly quest. The one statement he made that stuck with me was, “You shouldn’t have to go outside of the game to figure out how to do something in it.”
He also didn’t care for travel in the zone, though he did like the look and feel of it.
He then logged out to go play the Jurassic World go-type game.
For my own experience, I’ve enjoyed Nazjatar. I did think some of the world quests seemed to take too long to complete, though I haven’t done them all yet. The travel experience fits the zone well, and the multiple flight points make getting around a bit easier.
The highlight of my day in Nazjatar was escorting a little Murloc back to camp and getting the items on his “shopping list.” I found that pretty entertaining. In another area, I was thinking “This seems like a very bad idea,” as I was feeding a carnivorous plant.
All in all, I’m having a good experience and enjoying myself. My plan next is to finish up the world quests on Nazjatar and do some pet battling.
Yeah look, I am seriously considering cancelling my sub…Nazjatar was okay, but Rustbolt Resistance and Mechagon, to me that’s completely unacceptable to have to do that zone to get flying, so yeah…im out. good luck everyone
Only did Naz just tonight, felt really light on content. Visually, its not bad to look at.
My biggest question: was this zone intended just as a catch up for alts?
Same here! I did the same thing at the end of Legion and have really been enjoying my decision. I like having choices and the ability to do whatever I feel like doing as opposed to “raid at 8 pm tonight.” I can play at a pace that suits me rather than keeping up with gearing and items to be competitive.
So far I’ve been liking the start of 8.2, Nazjatar is stunning and it’s pretty cool that just by running around you find some extra quests, I think it’s early to give any final verdicts but I like it so far. I also liked the jelly WQ pre-nerf, it was pretty hard but doable I would have liked the rewards to be buffed (so it’s worth spending about 20-30 mins on it the first time around) rather than the quest made super easy now but oh well I guess players want EZ.
The one part I think it looks pretty bad is how one-sided the WPVP is, I mean as Horde I’m on the privileged side but it’s quite sad to have us winning the Battle for Nazjatar so overwhelmingly, did it on both of my toons and it was 56/3000 and 116/3000 I think.
As for Mechagon I was able to get started and do a few quests, got the trinket and some punch cards but I haven’t had the time to fully explore it, the start was ok and it looks like there might be fun things to do but the zone is definitely not as pretty or interesting as Nazjatar.
Love Mech, not much of a fan of the Naz.
Was a little put off by it at first, but 8.2 is seemingly good.
Agreed. This is a ‘tougher’ world quest that I have a feeling a lot or people will skip unless the reward gets a small buff.
Also agreed. Im also on horde however on my RP realm/shard it was actually a lot more alliance!
yesterday i hated it. Today im loving it. Things are now making a lot more sense, and having explored the full zone now, it feels nice and contained.
Best thing though was the memory cutscene. I vaguely remember it being released a long time ago but forgot to watch it. While wandering around stumbled on the ghost, clicked on it. My poor laptop froze, i thought the game crashed then BLAM. Most epic cutscene since… the wrathgate? It’s one of those cutscenes that ties the entire zone together and everything suddenly feels less chaotic. Loved it, and as if by pure magic i suddenly found the entire zone engaging.
I’m enjoying the new content, though I have warmode off and it will stay that way.
You’ve also peeked my interest in what else lies with in the heart chamber.
Oh the irony of this post.
What will you do when one of the people who was giving him what you would deem to be “bad advice” gets promoted to replace him? Are you truly such a naive person as to believe game design of this level and complexity is all decided by a single person?
I may not be happy with things, but it will take a lot more that a video game to make me demand that someone lose their employment. Take a chill pill and frame your arguments with logic and honesty. Try attacking the problem, not an individual; and you’ll get further in your dialogue.
Bornakk wants our feedback. Give him your feedback, not your childish whining.
Feedback:
Please make it so we can grind the Unshackled Bodyguards Experience up by doing regular Dailies. 100 Exp per World Quest completed seems fair. 1 Exp per hostile mob killed is also fair. The Unshackled are leveling. Why doesn’t killing Nazjatar mobs give them experience?
Try to make the Developer that is making these counter-intuitive decisions understand that having it be specific missions makes no sense and it is an obvious time-gate attempt which is frankly speaking, angering your players with frustration.
You need to stop time-gating the game. Some of us take time off for your patches, doing this really disincentivizes us to play WoW regularly, because once we do X number of things… we’re done.
Ion said in a recent vlog that they’d poured their “heart and soul” into 8.2. Just wondering where? I mean… the art team did a fantastic job, as usual, but I’m yet to see what Ion is talking about.
Pretty fun, overall 7/10 or so.
Positives:
Nazjatar, especially the caves and underground areas. Overall the zone could have been bigger though and allowed for some areas with less mob density. The new kinds of puzzles and treasure chest are fun.
Mechagon, had fun doing the quest there and grinding large packs of mobs. The theme is fresh as gnomes haven’t seen much of the spotlight in the various expansions.
Essences, this looks like a fun system for giving some customization to characters.
Mob Strength, I am glad the mobs are a little harder. With gear they will get trivial again soon enough.
Negatives:
Body Guards, they hurt more than help at this point.
Mount Equipment, this system doesn’t add much for me. If the idea was to give a lot of customization, it’s not going to work out.
Too much stuff, bags get full fast, usually I have 30-35 empty slots.
Mobs are too dense in some areas.
The Story, overall too cartoonish, like a bad 1980s cartoon.
Something broke some of the addons.
@Blizzard I’m really enjoying from what I’ve played, thank you for the patch!
