Ripcord, essentially pulled

If only they just let us swap between them more freely so they could still be fun abilities.

But so many wanted to die on that MUH RPG ELEMENT hill. Funny enough, the closer we get to launch the less and less those people seem to be posting. Almost like they didn’t care about the game anyway and only wanted to argue on the forums.

So if players accepted the value of a 5 person 3s knockdown, the ST damage of an execute, and the AoE from a ground based AoE, what was the actual balance issue then?

Which is why you don’t lock this stuff behind arbitrary, stupid gates. If you’re going for Diablo 3 style system, commit to it and go the whole 9 yards

I think it’s cute that you think this solves any of the inherent problems with covenants, and that it’s what people who supported the ripcord pulling wanted.

So middle end guilds would be the only ones to notice a change?

People did not want to pick an ability versus their favorite aesthetics. That was simply it. They wanted us to “make a choice” when the choice to make was horrendous. Yeah, sacrifice personal performance for looks or vice versa. Choices were very meaningful, I agree. In the worst possible way.

Thats a shame, i wont be getting legendarys since i prolly wont do that content, nvm, play for the story then back to gw2

So we all must pay and dull the game because you take the game too seriously?

What a great manga. It’s like the anti-shonen

I would rather have a system that leaves the covenant abilities dead as a door nail than have them be meaningful to the point we have to pick something that is by far better than anything else performance wise. We all know blizzard cannot balance anything. I would rather take out that variable altogether, personally.

Here is the thing. The argument has never made sense for those that didn’t want the ripcord pulled. You never had a choice taken from you. Not once. You can still pick whatever you want and your game play is not affected, at all.

Don’t be too harsh on them. They were budgeted a single calculator and it went missing months ago.

Bobby K won’t even spot them a Raidbots subscription. Have you tried to do multiple sims without one? It’s hell.

We all saw this coming

You can’t really have impactful abilities, that all have their different niche, provide meaningful dps, and also all be balanced against each other in ALL content

It just cannot work that way. Blizzards mode of thinking was flawed from the start. Either the abilities are highly unbalanced and certain content favors certain ones, or they’re all balanced and basically meaningless because they all provide similar results

Can’t have your cake and eat it too

In theory it sounded great but anybody that has been around a hot second knows how this would end. Its best just to get it out of the way now.

It’s another boring borrowed power system that’s going to kneecap everyone at some point. They need to stop with the mobile game BS and just revert to MoP class design.

It’s a shame this is the result we got instead of making them swappable.

Covenants now are more boring than minor azerite traits lmao.

70 to 90 percent?
Where can I see that?
Reading through the notes on wowhead and not seeing anything of the sort.
