I still don’t see any good change in this.
-Rares still require multiple people to kill
-Rares despawn after 15 min when noone is near
-Rares in Zaralek are still on a rotation
-Rares when despawning go back to their killed respawn timer
-The drop rate isn’t significant enough to make a difference
Did I miss anything? I just can’t see anything good in this.

Exactly, most of these points are related to the Time aspect of RNG, the ratio of attempts.
All changes provided by Blizzard regarding ZC has impacted that and I don’t know if they’ve even consider future players that’ll try to grind this zone in later expansions, because at least now when it was new and a little bit nowdays, you can find groups in the LFG, so you can avoid waiting between attempts or another solutions but what about players in future expansions, if they miss a spawn, then it will restart its respawn timer…etc
It’s not fun and that’s the aspect missing with these kind of decisions from Devs.
On the flipside, in later expansions there won’t be any need for groups to kill these mobs. That problem eventually gets solved naturally without intervention from the devs.
Let’s make another reason not to go there. WTF!

Maybe in some way, this might actually help? I’ve noticed numerous times when joining a raid to do that weekly quest in ZC that all of the rares on my map either completely disappear or a ton of them appear. I don’t know, but it seems like this current change and the appearance and sudden disappearance of rares when joining or leaving a group/raid is somehow connected.
The soloable issue but not the issue of not knowing if you even might see it all play session. It will be
- is the rare on rotation right now?
- Is it up currently?
- If not then when was it killed last?
- Wait x hours for rare to respawn hopefully before you have to log out for the day.
So you might possibly do nothing all day waiting on rares instead being able to kill them and move on to another project. It would be like if old raids where only open 15mins every 8 hours and if no one went in the raid closed up till next time.

That’s just you joining the raid leader’s shard and doesn’t really have anything to do with this.
cause they like the murderballz
I guess, as others have already said, what is the point of this current change? I zone into the area, don’t see a rare on the map, and then just hop around on different shards until getting lucky to find the one with the rare I was hoping to find?
Other than to spitefully spit on players, I don’t know.

Continuing the discussion from Rare Elites in Zaralek Caverns and Forbidden Reach:
You have to be straight up trolling at this point.

And there’s why I had a disclaimer in my post before this one. I’m not in favor of the mobs despawning. But I was talking about the matter of them being soloable vs requiring a group anyway, so that’s kinda irrelevant here.

What you’re explaining to me is that you’re just now realizing what World of Warcraft is.
This has been the game for decades in many regards.
Regarding rares the concepts have changed quite often over time. Long/unpredictable spawn rate + low drop chance and maybe even a way too high lifepool are relatively new concepts, that have even changed back and forth over the course of the last expansions.
We had rares that had to be camped. But their stuff at least got a 100% drop chance. (Like TLPD, Aeonaxx and the big rares in WoD)
We had rares that spawned every 50 minutes, had interesting und unforgiving mechanics but were soloable and had some usefull stuff in their loot table. (MoP)
We had rares with a short respawn timer, but a daily lockout and low dropchances. (WoD, Legion)
We had rares with a reasonably long spawn timer and low dropchances. (parts of BfA and Legion)
I could go on and on. But what we have with ZC and FR is the worst iteration imo. Long respawn timers, daily lockout, low drop chances AND they can’t be solo’d properly. No, this wasn’t and isn’t World of Warcraft. Just some of the worst designs in the open world we’ve had over the last years.

I get the feeling that one developer was given the task of maintaining Zaralek and nobody else cares what they do, no matter how bad the zone becomes. Awful.

They were soloable in 10.1 for some classes. My boomie had no issues. I’d expect 10.2 to give more classes the capabiity with the increased gear.
They are also pretty fun to solo.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe boomies have the ability to talent into some defensive as well as healing talents on their left side tree. Not a whole lot of classes have the versatility and utility that druids do.
I also remember ye olde days boomies having a natural armor buff making them iron chickens. Don’t know if they kept that around.
Also it would still take 10 minutes or more to solo a rare. Not everyone wants to stand there and hack and slash at a rare who’s health, damage, and defense is on par with a solo mini boss.

Just a heads up you’re turning the CC forums into my wishlist and I’m digging it.
Hmm…slightly off-topic…what’s your thoughts on the brutosaur?
I aim to not just voice my ideas but everyone else’s!
As an owner of the elusive beast and legit buying a 2nd for a friend, I don’t think it should have ever been removed from its original vendor. The BMAH is literally for people who played the Mission table mini game for three expansions. I don’t think I know anyone who didn’t actively do mission tables being able to get somerthing off the BMAH.
Don’t understand why they removed the biggest gold sink in the game and relegated it to a once in a blue moon purchase for gold cap.
On another topic; I posted it earlier cause people were asking for a link as well; but I will be streaming tomorrow (Friday) around 6-7 PM CST start time and talking about the bonkers lack there of on logic hotfix on the 28th as well as going into talk about The War Within and what I’m hoping for the expac. I’ll also try to answer all the questions you guys throw at me with my honest (maybe unhinged) opinions.

Right? The brutosaur wasn’t just a huge gold sink. It was a huge gold sink that everyone actually wanted to buy. Sure there are other expensive mounts out there, but it’s the ones with actually useful gimmicks that sell. (I’d bet waaaaaaay more own expedition yaks than anything else in that price range, and such.) It’s crazy to me that they’d remove it.

It’d be a shame if that ended up on the CC forums too
