Decisions like this just make me glad I am holding off on buying the new expansion

Some changes lately been great, then others like this remind me how clueless they are about their player base

If content isn’t current, there’s no harm letting it be easy and soloable for people who want to go back to old content and get achievements and such

In fact, I think the simple fix is ANY zone/not current content should have rares on no more then 15 min spawn timers, with a 1 try per day per character loot lockout. So that way people cant farm the same rare all day for something, but when they want to it can easily be up and doable.

I’ve been saying this for years. And if the rare has a 100% chance to drop a mount then make the spawn time longer. Most people would agree to that.

Oh absolutly i would take camping poundfist over this horrible karokta mount with raid boss health and less than 1 % chance for mount any day of the week and its actually one of the clear memorys i have from wod getting in to a raidgroup for days and the collective excitement once he finally spawned for us

Agreed.

Trying and failing is way better than not even getting a chance to try. No more of this “pray to the gods of RNG that you happen to be online and in the zone when it spawns” BS.

Fun fact. When ZC first released for the first few days, the drop rate on the mount cosmetics was about 5-10%. A fairly reasonable drop rate. It’s how I got most of mine. Fast forward to a week or two after the ZC patch dropped and blizz massively nerfed the drop rates to about 1-5%, thus making it much harder to get them. It’s also why the mount cosmetic that drops off Skarn took me a several months to get when I previously managed to get all the other ones within a few weeks.

What a stupid change.

Some stuff from Dragonflight STILL wouldn’t be soloable if they don’t make any changes to the content, like Storm’s Fury for instance. Good luck outgearing/out-leveling Storm’s Fury, because you got to shut down four portals and the instant you move away from one it gets almost instantly re-opened.

This could sort of be a good thing. When a rare spawn, if you hurry there, your chances of taking down that rare will be greater since everybody out to hunt rares will go there. With the action spread out, getting help can be so frustratingly difficult that people give up. Rares are supposed to be rare. If there is a whole bunch of them on the map, then picking someone others choose as well is less. To further encourage cooperation, I suggest reducing the risk of arriving to a corpse with something like a five-minute spawn in warning. That way you have a better chance to arrive before the creature is killed. There is already a similar system in place for Fyrakks disciple in the Suffision camps.

So I took a tank down to check out how the changes are playing out.

Picked a rare, attacked it, discovered it had a nasty knockback I didn’t know about that sent me flying out of aggro range. Oops. Started over a little more carefully and after a min or so a hunter joined in. We finished it and he thanked me before I thanked him.

Next rare a couple of opposite-faction people were already fighting, so I joined in. No problems.

Third rare, well, nobody joined in; I called it out in chat when it was at 50%, still nobody came, so I eventually finished it alone.

Waited for a couple of minutes, but there were no more spawns. No particularly interesting loot.

So jury is still out, but it appears I could now add a visit to the caverns to my routine (at least for that character) now after ignoring ZC rares since the second week of 10.1

Blink twice if you’re being held against your will at the Blizzard compound.

This is a change that makes no sense because the agenda behind it doesn’t benefit the players.

This is the perfect way to make them rare because people rarely kill them so now they will rarely be up.

Well, it is a “could” thing. Let’s see how it plays out. But with the Emerald Dream thing going on I suspect we see little activates in old areas. Yes, the caverns haven’t been around that long, but it is already obsolete.

The funny part about that is that they claimed to having adjusted the drop rates of all rares to compensate for the changed loot lockouts and the weird rotations. But they actually haven’t. Why should I believe that they would do it now after the most recent announcements?

Didn’t take long for this take to show up again.
It’s not about rarity. I remember being able to solo all rares back then in the open world, when they were really rare. Thess mobs aren’t rares, they’re special encounters with a daily loot lockout and the main problem is that they can’t be solo’d.

People here are just tired of the old “wait and see” game. And the past clearly shows that things basically never went in a positive direction when they acted against all feedback and just refused to implement more comfortable and time-friendly gameplay.
