Then I’ll be done with the game. I’m not going to be FOMO’ed to death trying to make sure I have every collectable before the rares become harder to farm.

Does this mean you have to wait around in their area for them to spawn? It would be bad if the rares would spawn after you waited around for a couple of minutes, but it might be over an hour to get them to spawn in. Boo.

Blizzard seems to be going out of their way to make this zone suck. why not just delete it and pretend it never happened?

They have really had it out for this poor unfortunate zone since the beginning. It was such a beautiful design and they smashed it with their first “Hotfix” to it not even a week after it’d been on live servers saying “Thats not the zones intended purpose! stop that!” while simultaneously ignoring our questions about what the intended purpose actually is then so we could understand the change better.

Amazing thread because what’s the difference between the Council and a GD besides a small sample if there’s not CM or Dev interaction? …There’s so many threads, Its just post any post that you can think which is great but there’s a big gap between threads and Blizzard response.

If they don’t have time to dedicate to this kind of tool, then just check every subforum for feedback, there’s plenty of subforums besides GD.

Classes, profession, roleplay…almost everything already had a sub forum before Council.

This is my biggest issue with Blizzard and how they design the game despite the good changes they’ve been making.

They make these odd gameplay choices that don’t really make sense. Like I don’t know anyone who was upset that the rares in Zaralek stick around too long.

Dracthyr Soar having a 10 second CD after you land. Like do you want it to be like dragon riding or not, why the stubbornness?

Thankfully in 10.2.5 when dragon riding gets released to the old world, Dracthyr WILL be able to use themselves as a dynamic flyer! What we don’t know is if they will finally be eligible for normal flying as well.

Agreed. Blizz tends to design the open world around week 1, not week 20. Gazillion HP rares are great on release when there are loads of people in the zone zerging them as soon as they spawn, but what about weeks later, or in the next patch when the zone is mostly abandoned and the handful of remaining mount/transmog/achievement farmers are still looking at mini-world bosses?

This is stupid, make them soloable instead.

The rares are soloable by tanks and classes with any form of sustain (and the usual culprits of hunter/warlock) especially when going into S3 item levels.

Having them despawn sounds like a bad idea though, I was planning to one day just do a full sweep of the caverns for the claw but seems like it’d be made a bit more difficult now.

They should make the rares soloable (difficult but not impossible). If more than one person engages the rare at the same time, the drop rate should increase with more people there to kill it.

It’ll make it doable content for anyone who can’t get a group, but will encourage group play for people wanting to farm those items.

Or I don’t know but some kind of change would be nice either way. The current rare system is broken, unfair, and not player friendly.

I just wanted to add my voice to those dissatisfied with this change.

It’s so damn stupid they haven’t.

They just want people not to go there.

I’d kill those rares for Slitherdrake manuscripts, but they take too long to do alone, so I just pass on all that. They’re all health sponges.

Drake manuscripts, mount, toy, pets, and transmogs already gated by huge health pools, low drop rates, and limited drop chances per week, now further gated by extremely reduced uptime. Don’t give us a reason to camp, give us a reason to play.

Yet another example of Blizzard making the game hostile to solo players and collectors, and encouraging people to just quit the game. It used to be fun to solo outdated content and chase after appearances, mounts, toys and achievements even years after they were current content. As someone who does not participate in end-game raiding or mythic dungeons, collecting was my entire game.

Since Legion, old raids were never adjusted with legacy buff to enable solo play or removal of mechanics that require multiple players. Archaeology was abandoned. Pet battles all but abandoned. Now they are coming for the rares.

Collecting is evergreen, but Blizzard has found a way to destroy even that.

Seems petty, if not spiteful.

Spiteful, malicious, childish. Take your pick.

It’s very easy to imagine someone with a chip on their shoulder shoved this “fix” in at the last minute before leaving for vacation.

Well for one thing, how long will it take to respawn when someone is “in” the vicinity? Why would you hang around if it isn’t there, and it could be 5 minutes or 5 hours before it respawns? What constitutes “in the vicinity”? Is it standing there for x amount of time? Flying over it? Is it 50 yards or 500? All kinds of problems. If you fly through an area and there are zero rares up, why would you stay in the area? Result is even fewer people there

I just do not understand Blizzard’s occasional just dumb as hell decisions.
