Hey we just had an earthquake here in Los Angeles…
What?

Just got a text froma. Friend up there, was it bad? Shes incoherent.
Would you rather pay $300 monthly for insurance premiums, or $50 monthly in taxes for the same care that can not be taken away?
The Democrats are the ones pushing more progressive health care bills, and the Republicans are the ones voting it down or blocking it (aka McConnell).
Abortion is a weird situation. Abortion early for a variety of reasons could be. There are ways birth control can fail, and no one should force a woman to give up her bodily autonomy for a mistake - or for an accident. Certainly not if she was forced and assaulted.
As for health care, we align pretty much. As someone who experiences single payer, universal health care - it’d terrify me to lose it.
Oh so I wasn’t crazy ! I am in PS.

You’re the “literally shaking” type, aren’t you?
Not really. Sitting here watching an Australian kayak fish. Your response is pretty silly.
Nope it was a 4.6 in eastern Los Angeles.

Politics is a business. So is Healthcare. Both exist to make money.
So your position is medical care should be a business?
Money and Death for sure there.
It already is
Which is the problem.

Which is exactly what many progressive Dems are arguing against - health care shouldn’t be a business. When the lives of humans are on the line, it should be a right and not for profit. Every other developed country has long since realized this.
Nor should politics be a business.
See we are just talking past each other. You are still trying to fight for your views. I’m trying to tell you that ship has sailed. We are at a cross roads in this country. The constant back and force of competing values and the endless debates of contradictory sources never ends. If we dont change we are only going to increase the divide between us or at worse a civil war. I haven’t even mentioned my views, for the most part, but you can’t seem to get outside your box to look at the big picture. People of equal good will on the other side don’t agree with you and there is no objective reality where both sides are willing to agree to to end the constant war between conservatism/liberalism. We have to agree to disagree and fine a model where we can live together in the same nations without trying to force ones view down the throats of the other’s views.

Everything wrong with the U.S. in one sentence.
If she had birth control, she accepted that it can fail. She took the risk, and she went and did it. Assault and rape… I can see. The child didnt do Jack, but if it was right after you found out and not several weeks later when The fetus is forming(yes I’ve heard people try) absolutely.

I’m going to stop responding to you. I’ve asked you to clarify if you’d support federal intervention at any point, and I’ve pointed out the biggest problem with small government - many states rely on federal aid. This is all I’ve been talking about, and it clearly isn’t something you’re willing to address.
Have a good night.
Good thing my response wasn’t directed at you, but good to know what you’re doing I guess?

It already is
So one solution that is being put forward is to remove it AS a business and add stronger controls on it to keep it from getting out of hand. To do this some have proposed a NHS, single payer, and ACA helps some.
Medicare currently controls a lot of the costs and sometimes it doesn’t.
The people who govern our lives, our safety, and our health, should not be treating us as stock in a business.

Okay.
Step 1 is to re-impose the FCC Fairness Doctrine, which was repealed in 1987.
