So, basically, she was slated to win based on the popular vote, but the EC threw it for a loop.
So from what it sounds like she was the one likely to win based on polls, as most polls have said for Biden. That’ll probably affect the voter turn out sadly - many people might be complacent.
2016-2020 has seemed like the longest 4 years.
if there is one lesson i hope 2016 made people learn than it is to always take elections seriously no matter how sure you are in the results

The United States does not have a national popular vote system so no one won it. Someone cannot win something that does not exist.

Uh… no? “Slated” meaning what? People who don’t understand how the elections work were mis-understanding the whole thing? That’s certainly true.
The polls indicated a toss-up election. Lots of people who don’t understand polls, or the government, or, well, MATH, took the wrong conclusions from that, certainly.

I’m pretty sure the popular vote refers to who gets the most votes not related to the EC. So, based on citizen voters.

Sadly I think all the people posting popcorn gifs here are proving that too many people don’t take elections seriously. And then afterwards they turn around and want to complain about everything.

People thought she’d win based on the polls (which honestly were pretty close) and the fact she won the popular vote. That’s what I remember hearing at the time. But she ultimately lost. Plus a lot of people who supported Hillary didn’t at all expect her to lose to Trump, though given it was establishment vs. new blood I can imagine why so many jumped ship to Trump.
I recall even some experts being shocked by the results. Who knows - we might see a different result this time.

I think a ban on lobbying would go far, far more than trying to force term limits - though ensuring that people like McConnell can’t have so much control and power for as long as he has would be good. Nancy Pelosi included.
