Using an ability that reduces their speed to 110% for 4 seconds when they’re moving at 160% for 15 seconds isn’t going to save your life if you aren’t also using Cheetah to reduce the amount they close the gap.
This has been talked to death in the Hunter discord. It doesn’t surprise me you’re not aware.

Yeah, I figured you had no idea what you were talking about. Scatter/trap is a noob trap, and Rogues have to stop moving to throw a knife at you (or shoot a gun) which not only lets you increase the gap, but also lets you easily drop Cheetah long before the projectile comes close to you so it doesn’t daze you.
But please. Keep telling me your, “secrets”.

If Blizzard wants to keep it in, that’s fine. There’s ways around it. But it’s laughable when people suggest to actually do it.

That’s more related to Legion pet AI, and it’s a well known bug. There’s some ways to get around it with pet on passive and macros, but it still happens.
Yeah, your friends are so good they tell you to scatter/cheetah. The epitome of skill right there.
Blizzard isn’t the best source in things they’re wrong about, but sure. Let’s ignore scatter/trap. They’re also slowly coming out with posts specifically about Hunters talking about many different things that are still bugged.

If you have any slow at all on you, even with Cheetah when you scatter/trap a Warrior you can’t get out of Intercept range. Even with scatter/trap, if you just run at 100% speed a Rogue that sprints at you (even if you conc him) is still going to catch you.
Just because you don’t know you can make a macro to cancelaura Cheetah to drop it immediately (rather than waiting for the GCD to complete) so you can’t be dazed when they very obviously stop and throw a knife at you doesn’t mean you’re right about one of the most basic traps in Hunter PvP.
Clever traps makes scatter/trap slightly less awful at least, but it’s still not good to burn 3 CDs in a single attempt to gain range.
Sounds like you don’t know how to make a macro to feign death/trap. You probably never even used a mouse over macro or know how to make one. So don’t go there, ZOOMER.

I know how to make a macro to do it. It’s what I use regularly. Why would I burn scatter and halve the duration of frost trap? This is also assuming my feign even works. I’m not sure what this has to do with the fact scatter/trap is a horrendous idea.
If you ask any good Hunter whether to use Cheetah in PvP or not, they’ll all say to use Cheetah.

Are you new to Classic? Blizzard has been proven wrong a number of times, and this is shortly followed by a fix. Like how, “accurate” the raid parties in SM were - despite the fact they were getting way, way too much EXP.

Feign Death is scripted wrong. It’s not supposed to take 1+ seconds to drop combat.
