RIP cara dune

Why should companies be forced to lose sponsors because of an actor or actresses social media? That doesn’t make sense either. If you’re risk adverse, you don’t say controversial things on social media, if you’re willing to suffer potential consequences, then by all means. It’s all up to you.

i havent met a single karen but a ton of steves… i think they roam in pairs.

why are sponsors caring about 20 angry people on Twitter?
there won’t even be a % drop in sales. i bet you anything.
btw, they can preach on their hollow morals after they stop forcing kids to work in sweatshops. all these advertisers can preach about x y z but its just viewed as hypocritical.

It makes me wonder how would people like Howard Stern do in today’s environment if he wasn’t famous… or a person like George carlin

Stand up seems like you’re always walking on eggshells anyway and many comedians won’t even bother with universities

The Gillette ad is a prime example. A company that’s been caught price fixing is going to tell me how to act.

I am glad to see toxic people be taken down. There is no place in the world for hate.

Really? Because I don’t see anyone forcing you to have your beliefs. Just the opposite, in fact.

i think if done correctly, not a issue.
like for example. anthony jesselnik.
great comedian, super offensive. makes even a catholic laugh at abortion jokes.

what hate??
there was zero talk of hating anyone in those tweets

it is all in the tone and interpretation. I myself am a transgender obese queer woman and I find much of today’s environment toxic.

No, but they can choose where they spend their dollars, just like you can. I think social consequences for speech is fine.

Please don’t move out of the country :face_with_head_bandage:

aight but im telling you man… the day it comes to us low level small budget workers is the day we truly see why its a bad thing

They posted a huge loss… so many did

Yes, really.

If you aren’t pro-____ anything that people in media portray as “right” or “good” then you are cancelled, doxxed, get harassed online or even have IRL consequences simply because you don’t believe in something that certain people think is “correct”.

Ok, then I’ll leave the planet. LOL I totally admit, I’m having a really hard time living with this species and their endless fighting. FFS people knock it off, and find peace within. Some of us want to live in a place with higher consciousness. >.>

I think, at some level, everyone has risk if they’re extremely outspoken about controversial issues, even if they’re not a public figure. As an individual, I get to choose whether or not I want to talk about those issues or not.

Many companies have social media policies you have to adhere to, even if using social media on your own time even if you don’t identify yourself as an employee of x (and even more requirements if you do).

This is like the most peaceful time in human history believe it or not

LOL then I want a refund.

Yeah look I don’t see people keep find it that they have to jump of Facebook to give their hit takes

It’s weird

The people I see complaining about “cancel culture” are privileged fellows encased entirely in the bubblewrap of their various fanbases and constituencies. They’re so used to complete security and never being toppled from their political posts or jobs, that they have to invent conspiracies and mortal enemies. Indeed, they package themselves as martyrs when nothing could be further from the truth.

It’s laughable whilst they make content about it with millions of views of people agreeing with them as they walk of with bags of money because people can’t see the irony in it

Then go on Facebook and tell people they can’t think for them selves

going to afk but to address this.
What’s considered controversial is the issue. To even question will get you “canceled”
Martin Luther King was deemed a controversial figure at the time…
was sent to jail multiple times for speaking his mind.
