Cuomo is literally just stepping down because it will hinder his party. He’s not doing this for any other reason, he just knows the writing is on the wall with his whole party calling him out now. Important to note, they were circling the wagons and defending him when these came up dismissing them as lies. They’ve realized that this risks alienating a part of their party’s voters.

So just think on that. These decisions were not made with care for “moving forward as a society” they were made to move forward as a party. Think they give a damn about your idealism? They’ll pay it lip service for votes, but how many times have they ever footed the bill?

I agree with this. Politicians on both sides have been sunk with far less than what was brought against Cuomo. If the powers that be didn’t want him out, no power on earth could remove him. Once they decide that they don’t, any excuse they can find will be enough.

While I’m glad that the women he harassed can get justice, I don’t really believe that’s the driving motivator behind his ousting. That’s true everywhere in politics, left right and center.

I’m still trying to figure out what they want from their covid response. First it’s unimportant and just the flu, then it’s apparently bad but not bad enough to warrant xenophobic travel bans from blighted areas, then it can’t travel by human transmission, then suddenly it can, then it’s the apocalypse, then masks don’t work then work a month later. Now it’s a vaccine that totally works, but doesn’t work on the new strain, but also doesn’t actually solve anything it just lowers your chance to die but you still carry and spread it as normal.

No wonder the bubonic plague went so nuts, we’re supposedly an advanced civilization with higher intelligence and we’re still this dumb with a disease.

That seems to be how they want to frame it, but really this hill to make the stand? Why not when he outright ignored CDC guidelines which said “Only put the infected in nursing homes when hospitals are over capacity” only to then just cram them in there before his hospitals hit capacity. Killed off a lot of elderly people doing that.

But yeah, he’s become too much baggage to try and cover, the benefit of going against him vastly outweighs the alternative. So he’s the new sacrificial lamb. Meanwhile his replacement looks to be a far more authoritarian and extreme version of him. Good luck New York.
