Right Click Report - Not Going Away

Not when there’s an auto-squelch system attached to it that takes action independently of any moderators…

Most of the people in chat will be neutral parties.

Amazingly only a few select outlier players seem to have an issue with boundaries in a public social setting. If you are actually feeling threatened by this, sorry, but it’s all on you.

The auto-squelch has been attached to the right-click report system since it was implemented in May of 2007.

How outraged were you in the in the years following while you played the game? Will I find your posts speaking out against the system? Are you just hopping on a streamer outrage bandwagon?

You’re fine with people reporting you and then a GM banning you instead of a silence then?

You’re fine with Blizzard’s rules against vulgar language?

That depends. 2007 vulgar or 2019 vulgar?

You can always find some private circles where you can say precisely what you want. If the masses deem something inappropriate in a public channel then you should watch what you say there. Not everything is appropriate for every arena.

It’s not the masses deciding.

It’s the offended 2%.

Takes far more than 2% to squelch someone.

Does it take more than 50%?

Otherwise I don’t think “masses” applies here.

Probably less than that, but enough that if what you’re saying is pissing off enough people, you probably deserve the squelch. It’s not one or two people deciding your fate.

Aren’t these servers supposed to have like 24-30k players online per after layering?

2% of just your faction would be like 250-300 people.

Again the offended 2%.

Honestly, if you keep getting squelched by RCR, you’re not having a conversation, you’re abusing someone or being generally offensive. Because the community generally thinks so. You don’t get repeated squelches from one offended chicken.

Fair enough. But 250-300 is a lot of people.

I personally don’t plan on reporting anything but the most heinous stuff (death threats, suicide suggestions, hate speech) but not everyone is me. And heck on a bad day I might end up RCRing some very obvious political trolling like I see on many channels these days.

One of the benefits of an RP server is I can report any mention of Republicans, Democrats, Trump, and all that nonsense.

Yup, I plan on playing on the RP server. Normally I just eyeroll at stuff like that but I have had very bad and depressing days where I will end up reporting them just to get them ignored.

I still do not understand why people can’t just /ignore and move on. People with low self esteem need their little power trips I guess.

RCR hits all of their alts too. If I don’t want to hear from one person’s character why would I want to hear from their alts?

Make /ignore account wide. Problem solved.

I’d be all for that.

At the same time though I’d like the option to be able to report someone for saying I should kill myself, because no one should be forced to endure that in this game.
