Why are people reviving dead topics. The way old WoW is setup it assists in what everyone is afraid of. The only People who are afraid of right click report of idiots who spam stupid things and get caught. The way old WoW design since your server status was important if you where an *sshole everyone would become aware of it. So you would need to name change just to be invited into groups. This stopped idiots from spamming. Now right click report stops alot of the actual spam that happens with every game now since every major game has farmers who you can pay real money for services which are against TOS. This system is to stop this from becoming how bad it was in Wrath.
FYI in wrath on Server Illidan and KT most players used an app that did the same things as RCR except it was player driven and would could perma mute you way easier then now.
The system works or you would see ALOT more posts on retail about this. Since streamers/Major guilds do not have ANY issues with this. Example Method/Lucid streaming Mythic kills live. Dont you think if you could âEasilyâ abuse the system you could get random raiders banned/muted. But we have 0 examples and the players who have examples usually deserve the 2 hour mute or have 0 proof.

Also why is this a reason to add an auto silencing system? Just make it mute them for yourself and let others judge for themselves what they want to read.

The community defines what is mature. The âbutt hurtâ individual doesnât cause auto-squelch, nor does the single abusive person prevent it. Crowd sourced appropriateness filters work, because itâs what the crowd wants.
Iâm all for tweaks to the how and the thresholds used. Classic shouldnât require such tight controls as Retail, because of the communityâs other levers, but âIf you canât take the abuse, just quitâ is not the mature option for a game designed to be fun and cooperative.
I donât care if itâs 1 out of 3000, if you break the rules you should be punished, period, end of sentence. The rules are there to keep the game rated T and also to allow for friendly game environment for all of us.
Which rule are you specifically referencing? There isnât one that says you canât say anything that someone might find offensive.
No, its literally not. The threshold at which action is taken is precisely the number of reports required before the person gets auto-squelched. Raise that to 50 or 100, given that any given chat channel will never be viewed by every member of the server.
100 people out of the 300 in the Barrens find you offensive? Yeah, you need to receive a reprimand.
