color me wrong then.
hopefully its commonplace enough to make a difference and the punishments are good enough.
still my point stands. having power given to players to mod someone else is insane.

Okay, you think itâs unacceptable. Itâs unacceptable that Blizzard has done this, what are you going to do? Iâm guessing youâre going to accept it and continue to play the game.
Dang, guess it really wasnât unacceptable.
honestly im only going to play classic cause i have friends from vanilla and onward that ive known and still actively talk with that are going to play.
i had all but washed my hands of the whole thing a month or two back and they just dragged me back in.
it still is unacceptable to me that they would do so but im not turning my back on people ive known for over a decade because i have an issue with something a 3rd party did. i will however make it known that i dont like it and i dont agree with it.
so yes . i will be playing. and no. i wont shut up about something i feel is bad policy all around.
i have offered solutions that i would deem to be more acceptable and if more people got on board with them we might be able to make a change.
Didnât he get fired from blizzard a few months ago? Havenât seen him for quite a while.
Laid off, yes. Said he was compensated quite well and didnât have to worry about finding work anytime soon.
why are you so worried about it or are you worried for your fav streamer?
its not a problem for normal players.
This is why, in my thread that people horribly derailed, I suggested the solution is work your way to max level and turn your hang-out hubs into a max-level or high-level zone like Winterspring. The self-rightous moral police wonât have the attention span, nor the thought processes necessary to get to 60.
Point of order, people canât comprehend that the environment was different back then and even the GM mindset was different. At least 1/2 of the right click report options would have gotten even GMs banned.
Anyone remember a GM named Tigolebitties? I do.
I never said that, or anything of the sort.
I said the system shouldnât punish innocents, and innocent people being punished in the past does not justify more innocents being punished.
Of course anyone actually violating the rules deserves the punishment they get, whether they agree with the rules or not. Thatâs why I said innocent, and unfair.
Please stop trying to portray my argument as me being okay with the ToS being violated. Itâs really disingenuous.
You very much can. The ordnance is another matter.
Giving random players the power to attribute to temporarily squelching people is insane and unacceptable, yet you want blizzard to give your group of random players power tp change their system that has been in use for over a decade with no measurable downside?
You trust blizzard with policing itâs game, yet you question one of the tools they choose to do so with?
RCR is fine as designed and needs no âsolutionâ to make it more âacceptableâ to you.
Well, I have an easy solution.
If someone gets squelched and a GM overturns it. Everyone who reported it gets a silence on their account.
there is a measurable downside that has been pointed out in many many threads that youre just not getting or acknowledging .
im done talking with you though. have fun.
Streamers donât have this problem, the system wonât auto them anything as they are flagged to prevent them getting auto squelched/etc.
Should stop spreading lies, unless you find proof to prove you are not.
Oh yeah, then why is the example that people keep touting around the Asmongold squelch?
Stop trolling.
Okay, cool. Forward your idea through the appropriate channels to reach Blizzard and perhaps weâll see the results of your hardwork come to fruition.
I would actually be fine with that. A silence or at least lose the ability to report.
/microphone drop
A weekâs silence and the loss of RCR ability for six months, along with publicly naming the silenced accounts. Draconian? Sure, but it would make people think about whether this was actually something they wanted to use RCR on, or maybe just take twenty seconds to open a GM ticket that doesnât have automatic mechanics behind it, to be safe. Still there for the goldsellers and the skinheads, but when people use it on other things because they get their panties in a bunch, the hammer drops on them hard enough that it makes them an example for others.
RCR as designed is fine.
