If that is your answer why do you have such a hard time saying “yes I believe “wtf” should get you banned”
because you know that is stupid.
Wrong. That was the only cited reason in the ticket. I went through the appeal process.
usually they can cite multiple things.
But because I had been behaving, that was the only thing they could find. Thats when I knew their appeal process intent is to uphold the ban. They will nit pick the ToS beacuse they do not want you appealing in the first place because they are cutting expenses.
It was not like this years ago. I had an appeal in WoW in 2010 and a CS actually spoke to me and explained it and took time with me. They have changed.
It’s rather difficult to prove the prevalence of abuse, when the only agent capable of proving it (Blizzard) is invested in keeping it silent. They aren’t going to release reporting statistics and they are going to continue to delete the posts of people who claim to have been improperly punished, banning them, and ensuring that people who experience similar punishments are deterred from speaking out.
We aren’t investigating a crime; we don’t have the authority to subpoena Blizzard employees or data. Asking for the “burden of proof” is disingenuous in this case because it’s hidden from us and we have no means to obtain it.
but if you use half your brain and read between the lines you know this has all gone automated and they are being instructed on the CS end to not overturn on appeal so that they do not weaken the process. If people get screwed so be it.
They havent been investing into this automated process to make a better filter. You are pretty gullible if you believe that.
being actioned for that is not ambiguous though, masked profanity is very clearly defined. and unless their system is completely different, you were banned based on your previous actions in your account , as a ban is not the first thing that happens to you(unless it is something extreme).
Because that is not what I am saying clearly, as you were not banned just for saying that.
So this was your accounts first ever action? or only action?
It does not matter if it was the 1st 2nd or 3rd time. “wtf” was used to uphold the entire process. So I could of said “wtf” for the first for the second for the third and the outcome is the same.
You are trying to be disingenuous and side step the question.
yes it does matter, lol. Because banning is not the first action taken unless it is something extreme and just saying that once with no account history would not be enough. I thought you were knowledgeable about how the system works?
I have answered the question the first time you asked it, but by itself on its own, the first action, no you would most likely not be banned, but that is not the case here is it?
So this was your accounts first ever action? or only action?
Wait a sec, were you just chat suspended or banned from the game?
The system actually works in HOTS to where the 3rd offense is an auto ban.
Does not matter the severity. So if you say “wtf” for the first, 2nd, 3rd offenses then its a ban.
So again, you are just side stepping because you want to have your cake and eat it.
Again thats just a side step because you know its ridiculous. It doesnt matter if its the 1s or 3rd. something as simple as “wtf” will get you banned if they want to be nit picky.
You wont answer because you know its stupid, but your non answer says it all.
thanks
the third chat suspension is an auto ban.
again just answer yes or no. Should “wtf” be bannable"
you can blubber all you want to avoid how I have you cornered, but i wont even read it so dont waste your time unless you want to say yes or no.
How am I not? I am describing exactly how it works in WoW.
LOL so you admit it finally it was not your first acton, which then explains the ban.
Sorry no, that’s not how it works, because it does matter as just saying that word by itself with no account history will not get you banned.
Blubber? oh wow, you get actioned mulitple times, then get banned, and then question it? riiiiiiiiiiiight, I have answered that multiple times, by itself with no previous actions will not get you banned, but if it happens after you move up the penalty volcano, then yah that would be the straw.
What logic or evidence do you have to support the claim that people would abuse this feature much more in Classic than Retail?
Answer: There is none.
Right-click report is a very helpful feature. It hasn’t caused any real problems in Retail and there’s no reason to suspect the same wouldn’t be true for Classic.
I’ve never been murdered, but I know murder can happen.
Please don’t misrepresent my argument. I said it can be abused.
And there is evidence proving it has been abused.
It seems you didn’t understand what I said. I said there is less incentive, not that there is more disincentive.
When I say there is less incentive to do so in retail, I mean that mass reporting someone to disconnect them and get them squelched doesn’t do much to them.
There is a much more significant impact to a player being disconnected and squelched in vanilla.
Wonder if any is going to use it to blackmail somebody with. “Pay up those devilsaur leathers or we squelsh you from here to eternity!”
Give a whole new meaning to the devilsaur mafia…
No it won’t, with no account history using masked profanity will not get you game banned. and yes it does, lol, you have repeatidly said you were BANNED.
obviously since you even quoted where I said ‘mulitple’ , and 3 times is multiple.
Why would I say that? it is masked profanity, so it is perfectly actionable.
Where do I claim anything about the system? no system is perfect, but what happened to you lays out clearly how the penalty volcano works, so was this a chat suspension or a game ban? Because you keep saying ban, would be nice to get clarification.
