Seriously seems like people are taking the right click report to the extreme for their enjoyment. My name wasn’t Inappropriate as it’s the reason listed in the email I received.
A friend said he has a friend that add’s people to their friends list then reports their names then watches to see if they get renamed.
Total flaw in the report system and huge window for abuse while there’s no contact support numbers.
Yes the current system saves money for activision, but it hardly is a good fair system.
So what are you leaving out? Because it’s not your name that got you suspended.

blizz doesn’t hand out suspensions for name violations unless you keep using offensive names when told to stop
He probably reused the same name with different spelling. That’s a suspension.
Nope, just used the same name as it was. Felt as if someone was trying to ninja my name. I opened a ticket last night and it’s been 18 or 19 hours with no reply from support about it.
If my name is Inappropriate, I fail to see how it is, then they should add it to their list of names that can’t be used and problem solved.
We tested this in my guild. We just reported our hunter all at once with no basis or details what so ever. He got muted.
We had a slight chuckle about it in discord.

Back in the day, whole guilds were reporting guilds, and shutting them down for the luls…

It’s a system that can be abused. The only users upset by this coming to the light are the ones abusing it
The only people I hear of abusing it are the people trying to call it out for being abused though.

in this case, it brings light to blizzard’s system that is something that negatively affects the players. The system is prone to abuse and has been for some time since Legion. Back in Legion, it would kick you out of game. And people at 2400+ RBG groups would do it to force log someone out of game. Didn’t have to be a name that was offensive. The system would auto flag with enough reports. I had a friend who was close to his “HERO OF THE HORDE” title and got flagged so many times he lost it because of the name change issue.

It was my mother’s maiden name, I made that toon in her remembrance, it’s not offensive or inappropriate. It’s the logic that the system is flawed and this is just a small glimps of what’s to come. Maybe it’s possible because I stream for a hobby I got targeted. If the name is Inappropriate Blizzard should send a email or contact said player in-game to resolve the issue(or call since they have our phone numbers).
My incident is small scale abuse of the system but what happens when we know who guild main tanks are and know when they’re raiding or watching their streams? All it’s going to take is a small handful of people to report to have them D/C their MT during a boss fight that will cause the guild to wipe.
Want Asmon’s players name(or any high profile player’s name) or want to mess with him/them? Just have a handful of people report their name.
It’s a big open window for abuse, griefing and harassment with no chance of it backfiring on you. I’m sure we will see lots of it being abuse over the next year in pvp, farming and raiding.
Seems like the name reserv was just a waste of time.
