Uhhhh you pvp or no?

Nope, and TBH, Blizzard unfortunately designed this game around Raid, then M+, and then PvP. I can guarantee you that PvP did not enter their thought process the class design process.

I do. What’s the question?

Hows ele/storm with tempest instead of ele blast do by chance? I’ve no idea how to sim beta.

Obviously there’s still a lot in flux in beta tuning, but it looks like EB is flat out dead for StormÂČ and EleStorm. The refunds and generation just make Bolt too good to not press

All sims are still a WIP at this point, or should be considered as such, however: ele storm / EB is ~2.5% behind ele storm / tempest strikes atm. Tuning of course is ongoing as well, and I want to explicitly say this was a standard 5m ST sim in assumed pve bis at 639 ilvl.

Agreed we do not need a rework. What we need is a few tweaks and some polish after that.

I mean, if people are playing Elementalist and unbinding Stormstrike, I’m going to guess they did have a good time playing the spec due to being starved on MSW. A button doesn’t need to do huge damage to be meaningful. My best Mythic Fyrakk kill during awakened Stormstirke was 1.89% of my overall damage but I also used it 53 times giving me 1:46 of CDR on Feral Spirits which still has some level of impact and importance.

Can you elaborate on this more? What would be the ideal damage profile then.

I mean, in the last couple of tuning passes, they have been buffing/nerfing Stormbringer independently for each spec. They were at first just nerfing it all around but that doesn’t seem like the case now. Ironically, the thing that Enhance caught a stray from Ele was the Primordial Wave and Splintered Elements changes.

Jesus Christ I read this as Ice Strike and not Stormstrike and was wondering why everyone was so casual about not pressing it haha. Then when you never said anything about Hailstorm I had to read again.

Shaman probably only has less than druid
And even then I don’t know. I have played most classes to max and shaman is definitely up there as #1 or 2 for buttons

Personally I’m not too worried about that
But I’m not a fan of basically only elemtnalist being viable because of the way our mastery works.

Not using Stormstrike causing Elementalist to be MSW starved? what? Over the course of a dungeon you might use Stormstrike ~100 times, at 20% chance to generate MSW that’s 20 MSW over the course of a dungeon. 2 chain lightnings+Stormstrike damage comes out to about 0.9% increase in overall damage, the chain lightnings account for 0.2%. Unless I’m missing something, which is entirely possible, it works out to about 0.8 MSW a minute. That isn’t going to cause MSW starvation. Even if you wanted to include elemental assault, that’s 70 MSW and 1.5% overall damage increase. Now you might some some damage boosts to Crash Lightning, but I’m not going that deep since MSW was the concern.

It was un-optimal to run without stormstrike, but if you’re running short on keybinds it was definitely the best/only one to drop for DF elementalist. Obviously in TWW that changes since it can proc tempest and buffs surging totems damage, both being a considerable portion of their respective builds damage.

This is promising, I’m not a fan of having to use eleblast or lava burst. Lighting bolt and chain lightning are good enough, for me at least. I’d like them to bake ice strike into frost shock, and I’d love access to fire nova. It’s such a cool spell, and they could have both it and lava lash spread flame shock.

I’m not a macro guy, but isn’t it possible to make a macro that hits Lava Lash or Stormstrike if LL is on CD?

No. You can make a cast sequence macro, but it would be terrible and inefficient.

Agree that a cast sequence would be terrible. Feels like I have seen more complex macros lately.

Idk, I don’t have keybind issues so it doesn’t bother me.

There were conditional macros. But I dont believe they functioned with rotational abilities as such. It was more like “if grounding totem aura is up, don’t cast hammer of justice”

That would allow the Paladin to hit hoj and if the shaman grounded a millisecond beforehand, it wouldn’t cast hoj. They could then spam said macro and as soon as grounding was gone, it’d cast hoj.

They apparently broke those macros and I believe banned a chunk of players that were abusing them.

No, but kinda. There isn’t any macro that will be conditional, If X is on cooldown then use Y. What you could do is create macro that cycles between lava lash and stormstrike, but if you’re elementalist you always want to use lava lash if it’s available. You would end up costing yourself more dps by not using lava lash everytime you could. GSE(macro addon) would allow priority, so say you have W, X, Y, Z to cast but you want W as priority, it would do W, X, W, Y, W, Z. Problem with that is you need to cycle it fairly quickly(RSI!) or you waste time trying to use an on cooldown ability before cycling to the next. With the new macro changes I’m honestly not sure what all is possible, I just know that GSE no longer creates macros you put on your bar and instead has to bind a key, which is weird lol.

Honestly if they removed Lashing Flames and Icey strike and adjusted the tuning correctly for the other stuff to compensate that being removed, Enhance would legit have the best rotation in the game IMO. I already really like it right now, just too much bloat in conjunction with all the utility/CC you’re expected to do (especially in these new TWW dungeons that require a million stops).

A funnel class that also simultaenously requires you to tab target your big ST hitter is just whack, please get rid of that ASAP. Enhance is meant to lock onto a prio target and absolutely melt it, that’s their niche and the playerbase loves it too. Just go with it.
