Basically, the old Hunter pet ability “Heart of the Phoenix” got given to the Warlocks.

I doubt they’ll revert this in the beta, mostly because I don’t think they can bring themselves to admit it was a stupid change in the first place. I kind of have a morbid curiosity to see how arena hunters will react to this once Shadowlands goes live. I predict that one of two things will happen. Either MM (lone wolf of course) will be the new meta because the SL changes will be enough to make it viable, or MM will be barely better then it’s BfA iteration and hunters will be all but forced out of high level arena. Either way, I suspect Blizzard will be forced to at least bring back a 2 sec revive in PvP once they see the havoc they wreaked.
Another thing to consider is that MSV, Blizzard’s pet spec, will be dead in the water in all forms of high level content if they don’t revert this change. I doubt they’ll let that happen.

They are always too prideful on the dumbest ideas. I mean BFA was all about their ego in their design of systems that continuously didn’t work.
We will have to see how covenants go, I hope well, but again this is something the community has spoken out against and they are being too prideful and already had to walk a few things back.
Maybe it’s their way of killing what was forced on us without stating they were wrong. I mean I do enjoy my MSV, but man the shame they had when they had to revert the claim players didn’t want classic was big.

4 second pet rez is better than 6, I suppose. But even at 2 seconds, many times you have to use a 3m cooldown just to get 2s pet rez off. 4 seconds is still incredibly bad for any hunter spec in arena, and frankly just wasn’t necessary. Especially with the lack of abilities to effectively micromanage your pet and keep it alive.
Marks could actually find itself in a decent spot if the rest of it’s kit is ironed out. It needs to be able to selftrap. Scatter needs to be on the disorient DR tree. It just makes sense. Pls do it.

This is the other thing people are missing in this thread. You still need to use your pet as MM in arena. You have to have the MS effect for your two workable comps (jungle and php). You have to have RoS and pet freedom. You do not play marks in arena with LW. It’s slightly ‘less screwed’ when the other team kills it, but it’s still insanely important.

THIS CAN NOT BE 4 SECONDS IN PVP!!!
We wont be able to rez the pet outside of turtle no matter how hard you try.
Just attempted to rez pet for 2mins straight in arena in a 3v2 after killing a enemy player…
Strange that for a pet spec, it’s one of the worst of all melee.
