Revival Catalyst Not Allowing Transformation of Eligible Items

You didn’t, actually. You hadn’t said they were cloth and you still haven’t said which track/upgrade level.

Provably false. I’ve successfully put 18 items (including suffused cloth pants on my priest) through the catalyst, not one of which came from raid or M+.

Again, history proves you wrong. There were issues with some specific items in the Catalyst last season which Blizzard eventually fixed after being reported. But now we know you just want to waste everyone’s time.

He quite literally said Suffused in his original post.

What is this weirdly combative attitude?

And, as I said in my post, he never said they were cloth. People don’t always change forum characters to post so I wasn’t assuming that his issue was occurring on the character he posted with.

If that was directed at me, I’m confused. I was trying to help him make a more useful bug report. Because, you know, I use the catalyst, too. I want it to work correctly. He then said he never wanted to be helpful, just to complain. I’m not the one being combative.

If that wasn’t directed at me, I apologize.

The suffused items need to be veteran track or higher to convert. The adventurer track blues, even if upgraded to epic and equivalent “low veteran” ilvl, will not work in the catalyst. I think a third party site mentioned this in the requirements at one point and I also personally tested it. It seems to make sense since veteran track is also from LFR and low mythics.

I have suffused gear that can’t be used with the catalyst.

I thought they only came in veteran, you can get them in adventurer too? Either way what difference does it make? The threshold, if any, should be tied to the item level. Anything else is just being asinine on their part.

Suffused gear can come in Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, or Champion tracks. That means there are 32 different versions of suffused cloth pants. Hence why I asked you to be more specific.

If it’s not purple, if it wasn’t originally purple, it won’t work in the Catalyst. So any green or blue pieces or even if you upgraded a blue piece to purple, will not work in the Catalyst.

It’s sad none of this is documented, though. It’s like the devs want spurious bug reports for fully intentional game behaviors, simply because they can’t be troubled to share their intentions.

I mean, you’re not wrong. But some of it is common sense. Obviously a green can’t be catalyzed. But explaining the Catalyst and how it works with the gear track and that the source is the important part, not the ilevel, would have been helpful. Not even a word on Wowhead either.

It also doesn’t help that it’s currently behaving differently than it did on PTR, so there is probably a lot of old stuff floating around that’s no longer true.

Bro, knock it off. I said I got it from the weekly suffusion camp quest. Those only come in Veteran. I don’t have to hold your hand through every little detail. The bug isn’t related to the type of item, it’s got to do with how it was obtained and it’s total bs which is why Blizzard haven’t been able to fix it yet. They don’t understand how their own spaghetti code works and yet continue to toy with it every patch instead of airing on the side of caution.

Um, no. Don’t post in a public forum if you can’t handle people disagreeing with you.

Incorrect.

The exception is the scalewarden PvP bloody token gear. The original base item can be blue or purple, but must be fully upgraded to catalyze.

I’m not interested in arguing with dry personalities on the internet (those of you who have been so ridiculously snarky in this thread, it’s given me secondhand embarrassment). But I will contribute this fact: I just ran to the catalyst expecting to be able to turn my ilvl 428 champion 5/8 and I was unable to. I don’t care if that’s intended or not. At the end of the day, it’s definitely one of those “feels bad” moments.

415 1/8 Starless Gauntlets, Champion Track. Cant Catalyst them to get 4 piece on my pally. Feels extremely bad.

All my Epic suffused gear is catalyst friendly, but my Skyless at much higher ilvl is not, maybe that’s the way it is meant to be, but it leaves me confused and gives me the feels bad, lol.

So bummed I just went to convert my 415 heroic quest weekly gloves into tier gloves for the normal rogue appearance, which is probably the best looking set so far this expansion (look like super shredder from TMNT? YES!), and found out it wouldn’t let me change the look :frowning:
What a bummer man! Oh well, I’ll just get them another way. Easy.

The easiest way to get this appearance now that the rift gear is eligible for the catalyst is to:

  1. do a time rift event in Thaldraszus (look for the horn on the map) and kill the end boss (alternatively, just go to the rift area at :09 after the hour to go straight to the boss)
  2. receive a dilated time capsule (guaranteed one per week per alt)
  3. purchase the 402 leather gloves from Shi Everbreeze at the rift camp
  4. equip the gloves (if you care about keeping the rift glove appearance)
  5. convert them in the catalyst to get the LFR appearance
  6. upgrade to 415 with crests/flightstones to get the normal appearance
