My bad then. With the way I heard the quest described, it sounded like one of the turn-ins was to Anduin who’d then give you the next to actually go. I hadn’t actually done it myself, and made a bad assumption.
Which is another problem. It felt so odd to have Maiev not recognize one of her own as the champion.
I forgot that. It is Maiev that enlisted the aid. This only further proves that Anduin broke his promise and did nothing to aid the Kaldorei. He’s not fit to lead the Alliance.
And the funny part is, it wasn’t even Maiev but Tyrande who recalled the player from Boralus. If she hadn’t summoned the player, Anduin would have noone to “offer” to the Kaldorei.
Why? She’s only recently been accepted amongst the night elves despite her killing spree.
I like this. This is my new adage for Anduin and the peacenik brigade.
I can’y help but feel this would have been a good place to implement a choice, similar to the Horde War Campaign. Have both sides say their piece in the cinematic, and when it’s over, ask which one you’ll go with. All that really changes is who gets a yellow exclamation point over their head, and all the rest plays out like it already does. But it avoids the situation of Anduin giving me permission to go, when I was going to go anyway, no matter what he said.
Maiev hands out the quests, but it is Anduin that first suggests sending the nebulous (and solitary) champion.

Misguided and nuts as she was, Maiev did what she did, in her mind anyway, for the betterment of the Kaldorei. Of course she would have taken notice that the champion was Kaldorei. Service is important to Maiev, it’s partly why she was so pissed that Jarod left and abandoned her and his duty.
You’re right to feel that way because a lot of us have been saying that since last year. Nothing wound have changed and I can’t imagine it would have taken long to program that. The lack of forethought is irritating.
I stand corrected. I don’t want to split hairs, but it’s it fair to point out that Anduin didn’t actually suggest going specifically to Darkshore? I think it is.
I think that’s just how that person cut it all together to make it look good in a video. I mean the discussion part takes much longer to actually play out in game so it was definitely edited. But I literally just played it. After the cutscene Maiev immediately offers me the quest and Anduin doesn’t start talking until after I accept and Maiev begins to walk away.
Finally managed to Take screenshots from my recording session.
Making some things clear. The Val’kyr still tries to chain Tyrande, but can’t get to, moving frame by frame you can see for a brief momment the chains getting Tyrande, and then they quickly fade.
Also, what i believe is truly new, the Green spell effects.
And some fun stuff, like Malfurion having the lunarwing flight form and could someone tell me if the weapon Mirana Starlight wields can be obtainable by the player?

I need to just go and level my alt because you two are confusing the hell out of me.
In reference to the video, what the hell did they do to Shandris between 8.1 and Shadows Rising? I remember rooting for her in this scenario.
Just put the “`” symbol at the beginning and end of the link and it should allow you to post.

Thanks!
I think Shandris is being more pacific more in fear of losing Tyrande than anything else. She was fighting the Horde through every momment and arguably has been the most active night elf in the war, and took major enemies by herself.
Yeah but at the same time she knows that Anduin sent nothing to aid them. So she sounds rightful so be biter about that and this armistice that have her people no justice, even though she was, as you said, the most active Kaldorei in the war.
Technically for game mechanics Maiev is the quest giver, by dialogue however, if you hang around to see the full scene, Anduin is the one who sends you.
Knowing Blizzard’s quality assurance Anduin’s dialogue saying he sent help was written by someone who didn’t even bother to fact check who actually gave the Darkshore quests.
