Returning Role-player Looking for Advice

It’s been a few years since I played and now that classic is out I was wondering if it had a good role-play community? What would be the better option for someone looking to role-play classic or the current version?

I’m also looking to join a dwarven RP guild are there any prominent ones on either version?

The Meadhall is the biggest and most active Dwarven community I know of, and it’s on retail. I don’t even play Alliance and I’ve heard of it.

I can only report my experiences regarding Horde RP, and I haven’t seen much, if any public RP Horde-side in Classic on Bloodsail Buccaneers. Retail’s been dominating most of my attention, though, so it could be there and I’m just missing it.

Been on Bloodsail Buccaneers Horde-side.

There’s none.

Bloodsail Buccaneers refugee, here. ::raises hand, chuckling::

Yeah, not too much on Classic. It’s such a difference in retail! Nearly everyone has a TRP profile on Wyrmrest—I was so shocked to see so many people interested in RP.

Now, having said that, I think there’s still a Thursday night RP event in one of the park taverns in Stormwind on Bloodsail. Easiest to get there if you create a human.

The RP here on Wyrmrest great.

There are all sorts of different things going on.

If you’re in the mood for silly/casual RP with nothing too serious, there’s lots of cute little Vulpera hanging out, talking about their gear, gadgets, and whatnot. Sometimes I randomly change up my character to be silly when my friend logs on.

If you’re in the mood for serious/dramatic RP, they’re out there, too. I see them. I stalk them. I stand around trying to brainstorm ways of getting their attention before they walk away or log off because they think no one is noticing them. (“Keep your distance, Chewy. But don’t look like you’re keeping your distance.”) ::laughs at self::

I think you should make low-level characters on BOTH Classic and retail, on just about all of the RP servers, to get a feel for the atmosphere. Leave 'em at level 1 and delete them later, when you’re done scoping out the scene.

Well, at least, that’s what I have done. ::shrug::

Grobbulus is a good rp server for classic

Even has a hype trailer

No! It’s a trap!

Grobb is the RP-PvP server, right?

Before I was a Bloodsail refugee, I was a Grob refugee.

When I got to the Hillsbrad area, Alliance kept killing me. :frowning: This was last August/Sept.

When I was walking through Ashenfall (Ashenvale?) with a random Orc, an Alliance came our way and he attacked them and then got mad at me for not attacking them. I just wanna be friends with everyone. ::pouts::

I was so sad. I rolled there because I envisions dramatic dialogues between good and evil, pausing between sword swings to threaten each other and mention how the opposing faction killed their father and they must now prepare to die. But it was just a bunch of PvPers ganking without thought.

…That’s a pretty sweet trailer, though. ::Forsaken head bang:: Rock on!

Edit:
::cusses under her breath::

Nevermind. I’m getting the servers confused.

I had TRIED to create a character on Grobb, but the queue was always full in August, so I just created a character on Deviate Delight.

So it is Deviate Delight (RPPVP) that I am thinking of, and speaking of, above.

And THAT’s where i got my rear end handed to me on a silver platter.

Oh, yea grob is good times. Couple of gankers but most people know each other and getting help for pvp is actually easier

Alliance on WRA is pretty much a ghost town at this point, but Horde side is holding up well. The situation, however, is reversed over on MG - Horde is pretty much silent as a tomb, but Alliance is thriving.

I was on Bloodsail on Classic for a bit, but the RP scene petered out pretty fast; that was a huge disappointment.

Ishnu’alah Caradin!

The roleplay for both Horde and Alliance on Wyrmrest Accord is very healthy, but accessibility between the two are different. For the Horde, you will find a large number of walk up roleplay in the heart of Orgrimmar and even beyond the city in some remote places. For the Alliance, roleplay is more organized with community events or guild storylines and requires some searching to locate, but there is plenty out there once you find your niche.

Tamanii is right about the booming Dwarven RP community, and one of the best ways to get in touch there will be via the Meadhall. You can encounter walk up roleplay in places like Stormwind, but it’s not quite as populated to places like Stormwind City on the Moon Guard realm.

Keeping an eye on the forums is a good way to find upcoming community events for both factions. Attending a community event or two can go a long way to help get the ball rolling.

Whatever you find or decide upon, I hope you have a great time. Asha’falah :crescent_moon: :leaves:

Speak of us, and we will find you. Here’s the basics of the Mead Hall - contact me in-game or by using my discord tag (in this post) and I’d be happy to give more info and suggest dwarven guilds!
