Returning player - problems

Hello I’m a returning player, left since 2009.

I had a main character max level, and a few PvP low level alts. We were all in the same guild.

My main character was a guild leader of this family guild.

1.) It seems per guild history someone logged in as me and switched leadership and demoted him to initiate and making themselves leader and it says 2 months ago in the log. I find this impossible as I had to name change when I logged in after so many years. So if I was hacked or my account was compromised and someone logged in as me to give leadership away my character would have been forced to change his name then. It would have been apparent something happened to me.

2.) I have 2 pieces of mail from NPCs that I cannot delete or open. From the Keymaster and Jeboto (spelling may be incorrect as I’m on my phone now). Mail icon is showing, these are not ignored players but names with spaces “The Keymaster” etc

Any way to get help on both issues? Thanks

I’m not seeing any signs of compromised here - I suspect you were gone long enough to be dethroned as guildmaster. That is an automatic process.

As far as the emails, I see three with a small amount of gold from NPCs. If you can’t retrieve those from the mail, I’d start with a proper reset UI.

With WoW totally shutdown, move, rename or delete your WTF, Cache and Interface folders.

The mail problem you would need to open a ticket for Game Master intervention.

The guild issue is probably not going to go your way since the introduction of the automated dethrone option. After a certain amount of time not logged in on that specific character, other people in the guild in ranks 1, 2, or 3 have the option to dethrone the sitting guild leader. Starting with rank 1, each person gets a limited amount of time to act on the dethrone or it moves to the next person, so on and so forth.

This is a brand new computer after over a decade so this UI is new but will give that an attempt.

Thanks also Ekon. Other players in guild were my oldest sons account and my ex-wife, lol :joy:.
One day it will circle around as they are dethroned.
