This is not uncommon in Vanilla. BiS lists include raid and Dungeon pieces. Not sure I would describe it as soul crushing though. Also, sims have been around forever.
I do not believe in giving ‘‘loyalty’’ to a video game. If the only thing making a person play is loyalty and fondness for the past they’re never be happy with it. not ‘really happy’ anyway. always be something wrong with 1 spec or another to make people upset when back in the day they didn’t even pay attention to things like that as much.
But i enjoy what time i put into wow. i never grind things i just do em slowly and get what mounts and gear i like or feel i need. i’ve done it for years and unsubbed if i wasn’t having fun.
And at the end of the day it always seems others are way more upset then they should be without leaving the game then i am and i truly believe that’s rooted in my mindset on how i play it.
me too dude. I quit for the entirety of MoP, played WoD hate it, then quit for Legion. After missing what seemed to be 2 good expansions in a row, I figured I would give BFA a shot and man I regret it. Preordered shadowlands a while ago, but I probably wont even play it. At this point, I think im done. 2 or 3 days left on the sub and I only use it to talk on the forums. I play HOTS more than anything else, sadly.
Corruption is one thing they got really wrong this expansion. Caving in to the high end snowflakes who rage when somebody gets titanforged loot the same level as their Mythic loot was a big mistake.
I for one like titanforging, getting a corrupted peice is generally a let down or just confusing especially when it has like +60 Corruption on it wtf.
Yeah. Can’t be a positive or normal person on YouTube. Negativity sells, sadly. Easier to whip people into a flurry of rage than have good discussions.
It might be because of the fact that you started towards the end of WoD. The majority of complaining players grew up with this game. They built lasting friendships and memories while playing the game, and that creates loyalty.
I’ve played longer then wod but thank you for that attempt at a observation.
No matter how much fun you’ve ‘had’ in a game you should not play it if you do not find it fun anymore.
This is a video game for entertainment, if you no longer find that then loyalty is just gonna make you complain about things and whine no matter what without quiting…
Emotional attachment is the only reason I made it so far as a loyal Blizzard customer. I’ve been playing their games since Diablo 2 but BFA and WC:refunded were the last straw for me.
I actually felt sad for refunding wc3r, that’s how bad the attachment can be.
I don’t disagree that parts of the corruption system are trash—at least the part where you can obtain corrupted items even when you don’t have the cloak and probably other parts as well—but the questline won’t take you 2-3 days, man. I spent an afternoon/evening on it, and I am SLOW. Like, I read everything, and I am a slow, slow, slow player. I take in the sights, take breaks, sit here and knit instead of killing things… lol
I didn’t even want to mess with this content in 8.3 at all, but I did it for the curiosity factor, and to be able to honestly say “I tried it, didn’t like it. Going back to my alts in content that’s not at the end-game, because that’s not fun.”
So if the time it takes to get the cloak and/or items to cleanse the gear is the main complaint here, just go do it and git 'er done. It ain’t that hard and doesn’t take as long as you think it will.
