Returning after 3 years, how is the community still?

So I took a break after Shadowlands just due to burn out and work. Seeing the new expansion it made me miss the good times with all my WrA folks and has me kind of yearning to come back and play through the Dragonflight content and get back to RPing. I’m hoping things are still great, and hope to see everyone about as I set off to start again from scratch basically.

Come to the teahouse. no doubt we’ll have some kind of “Samwise Special” on the menu this Sunday.

It’s quieter than it was, but I also find that it’s less prone to aggressive vitriol than it was, too. People do sit around and reminisce about the good old days (sometimes a melancholic mood) but they spend a lot less time being angry or frustrated with the game/other players/Blizzard than they used to, as well.

If you are someone happy in a small group of people who want to make things happen you will be likely to find something you enjoy here. If you are into massive RP hubs and a smorgasbord of guild options/activities at all hours, you may find returning to be only bittersweet.

It depends on what you want from returning to WrA.

Quality, not quantity. Agreed.

If you’re Alliance, you’re more likely to find random RP in Duskwood than in Stormwind. That’s been a major paradigm shift.

Horde’s still mainly in the Valley of Honour.

Otherwise though, it’s pretty similar to what it once was.

I will definitely have to swing by, I’m currently debating on my new RP character.

Agreed that it’s definitely a bit quieter, but I also agree with the sentiment here that I’d much prefer a smaller community when that smaller community is compromised of excellent people. In my experience, that is where the best RP and the most character development is found.

We Forsaken are still going strong, too :metal: Welcome back!

Forever Wyrmrest  :house_with_garden:

While I need to make the new race/class combo I am definitely going to put a Forsaken Hunter up to arms first.

One of the ways we’ve built the teahouse (behind the scenes) is that the crew (host + regulars) are very supportive of people experimenting with new characters. It’s fine if your backstory (etc) are still nebulous. In fact, I find out something new about Kunbo nearly every week.

Hey Kunbo! I’m also a returning player who hasn’t played in years. 2021 I think was when I last played. What’s the Teahouse?

a blatant bit of self-promotion by me.

Small world, I came back from a six-year away recently, myself. It’s definitely bittersweet, but I’ve fallen right back in quite quickly.

Hey all! I too am back from a fairly long hiatus. Have not played seriously since tLK and then MoP (but came in late). I dabbled in Legion, and haven’t played until earlier this week.

Great to see people are coming back and RP hasn’t totally died yet! I’ll keep the tea shop in mind as I’m looking to kick the rust off my paladin’s armor.

Realized I haven’t updated my character in decades! Here’s my WrA pally’s name.
