Return my Character

My level 60 was moved without informing me while I took a break. I see him on WOTLK but I’m not playing that trash game, especially now that tokens are a part of the game. What a stupid move to assume people wanted them moved in the first place. Return my character.

You should read the terms of services.

It isn’t “Your’s” in any way.

Make a new one and start over.

Let’s not play stupid here. You know what I meant.

It’s easy for someone who hasn’t leveled a character without paying for it to throw away someone else’s time.

What did you mean?

I never liked the idea of clones, or of forced progression. If they are going to keep Classic Era separate, I would have liked the ability to choose at any time, rather than a snapshot or a clone, if I want to “upgrade” my character to TBC Classic or Wrath Classic, or not.

Similar to how D2/D2 LoD works, if you’re familiar with that. I had initially just assumed that’s how it would be, but that is not how it is :frowning:

I do.

Doesn’t matter though. Blizz isn’t bringing back the clones

I see it both ways-

In the history of wow it was linear, your toon had no choice but to join others in future content even if you didn’t buy the expansion.

Where I think they messed up is making cloning a limited time offer when people are just coming back to classic and genuinely may not have known about cloning during the time it was offered.

Imagine all the people on the other side saying “my character is stuck in era, why would I want to play that trash! Send me to wotlk”.

There’s no winning

Yeah send me to WOTLK where it’s solid GDKP, gold is worth nothing, wow tokens destroy the economy further, and the population is now non existent.

But yeah I know what you mean.

at the time, 99% of people wanted to move onto the expansions. it made sense to make the expansions the default choice.

we tried to warn people that the expansions were terrible, but they did not listen :expressionless: I’m afraid your characters are casualties of this lost war.

There is a winning option though.

If they just made staying on era the default option it would have been way more simple

They could offer the option to transfer your era character to wotlk for returning players that want their character to be in wrath. There would be no issues letting a classic era character be dumped into wraith servers. But they cant do the reverse for obvious reasons.

They made this whole thing more complicated just so that they could monetize the clone service, the character clone split should have been free, your whole account should have just been duplicated for both versions during the tbc progression period, but they chased the bag with fomo clones.

no, they would have 100x the complaints from people who want to play wrath but are stuck on era :expressionless:

and no, blizzard isn’t going to get any more complicated than “default expansion” or “default era”, so it’s pointless to discuss your little idea.

They could have simply left the choice open and not forced that wile still not allowing for further clones.

That would have been acceptable and responsible on their end.

Did you even read my post?

You wouldn’t be “stuck” on era, because blizzard would just offer the ability to transfer your era characters to wotlk if they made era the default from the beginning, they cant transfer wotlk characters to era, but the opposite would have zero issues

I’m so sick of this conversation >.<
your characters are old at this point
you should be leveling new ones
ANYWAY

I am

I cloned my bis shaman the very first day clones were available

I wish clones were around so i could clone my hunter i didn’t bother cloning at the time just to save the time leveling him up, but its whatever at this point.

I have this shaman cloned and im currently leveling up a new warlock on era.

I quit wow for like 2 years and never once received an email about the clones being deleted, blizzard dropped the ball there, i guarantee they would have made a nice bag from people doing last minute clones if they actually made it known to non subscribers at the time

Haha yeah you’re right classic had no GDKPs. Instead of tokens you got bots destroying market.

I’m all for people that like classic more then wrath but living in a dream world where the same problems don’t plague both is just being delusional.

Make another one

OP, you do realise that moving onto TBC then Wrath was the default option for everyone and in my opinion the right one.

You had to choose to move to Era. The natural progress is Vanilla => TBC => Wrath, not Vanilla => Classic Era. Just like back in the Noughties.

Blaming Blizzard for your inaction is not right.

Ok, but that goes for everyone here. Assuming I believe every word of your story, either one of two things happened.

The first possibility is that you walked away from WoW Classic when absolutely no one knew whether classic servers would roll into TBC or stay Classic. Everyone wondered how they would transition, but no one knew. If this is the case, you never bothered to find out what would happen to the servers and have no right to be retroactively upset about it.

The second possibility is that you knew what was happening, but didn’t take advantage of the cloning while it was available or choose to stay on the Classic servers. If this is the case, you have no right t be upset as you made your choice.

Either way, you made your choice and you are responsible for the outcome.
