Bring back the clones!!!
I don’t think they will be back.
Saying something over and over again will not make it happen.
Take it to support, and he’s right it isn’t your character you’re just paying to play him.
I feel like people walked right into a trap. There was a LOT of misinformation going around about TBC and WOTLK. People proclaiming they’re “the best versions of WoW” and that sort of nonsense. So many people took the bait and ate it up.
I helped spread that, and I’m not proud of it.
The more fresh vanilla one plays the more clear it becomes that all the expansions are just traps.
Vanilla is an immersive world.
Expansions are homogenization of classes, gear treadmills, and just more of the same in slightly different shapes and colors.
I love all you nerds acting like you don’t have “time” to level a new character.
Wooo! Another thread about this, even though you had tons of time to pick to stay in era! Sounds like you didn’t take advantage of that.
he has a point tho. You are not entitled to “your” character. Its Blizzards. They offered a time window of refusing the transfer and without any feedback the default was to move your toon.
Sucks but then…thats life
Great idea the blizzard should implement
They did not assume anything of the sort. They did this to boost the apparent number of characters in wotlk when it was released.
Truth it’s all about boosting the companies numbers and making stuff look artificially good in the short term.
They needed a spike to report.
Imagine a world where blizzard creates a spike by making a good new game instead of riding off the coattails of their intern harassing forefathers smh
The EULA states it isn’t “your” “character”, which is just below the new arbitration clause.
Let’s say your landlord decides to redecorate inside your house while you’re away, maybe add or remove a few things. Sure you might have personally liked how it was originally, but you’re still getting angry that YOU weren’t there at that time cash-in-hand to say no.
Sure you might like vanilla classic, but they profit more from this. Not sure why people aren’t just playing Dragonflight. The WoW shop is plentiful unlike classic. And I get to get the trading post monthly points for my IRL $15 monthly. I pretty much HAVE to be subbed at any given month for it. And the writing is the best it’s ever been.
I can’t wait for the improvements Microsoft will bring to Activision with their amazing track record with Minecraft.
So you’re saying customers just need to keep asking for what they want? That’s cool, I want my character.
IDK about that. Maybe enough to get people suspended, back when “Legacy Server” conversations were a suspendable offense, on the forums. But then went “haha, just kidding, here’s Legacy Servers, please come back!”.
Asking for stuff over and over does in fact often get you stuff
It does take time, though. I remember the Legacy Server wars. Pretty silly to see folks get suspended for just wanting to talk about it.
“I suddenly love Era again but didn’t have $5 or something and since I just love Era with all my heart I cant be bothered to level through it again and would like to be relieved of this burden. Ill even pay you good $ for helping me falsify the illusion I gave a crap about Era a year ago.”
I don’t know a single guild that runs progression with GDKP, so maybe look to get in a guild doing recent content. To be honest I don’t even thing there are that many on our server doing Naxx runs using GDKP, as you can get raid quality gear simply doing hard mode heroics, so most of the items certainly won’t have much value, and the next raid tier will be even easier.
As for tokens honestly who really cares? Why would anyone buy gold for WOTLK? Its so easy to get gold even without doing dailies, but if you’re short and need gold, do the tournament ones, you can do the whole group of them in about 30m and make about 200g. Also run heroics for a few days, you can make great money doing that. What do you really need a lot of gold for? Potions and flasks are dirt cheap, and most enchants aren’t that expensive.
