Warriors have a dps spec that is worse than Ret and another that is slightly better but so close it’s not even funny. In this phase. What we don’t have is two other viable roles.
Still you have a choice to use the better performing spec. Ret does not.
Yep we can choose a spec that plays about as well as Ret if we can’t convince anyone to take us as Arms this is true…
Exactly and in the future you will have the choice still. Without the buff Ret are trash for a complete raid. Warriors are not.
Once warriors get thier set pieces and armor pen they are top dps through out the whole expansion.
Yeah I know, we’ll be gods in Elysium … Sort of like how Feral were meant to be S+ tier for the entire expansion. Bless those accurate predictions eh.
I don’t buy the fundamental logic on either counts, not the point that we have two options and they have one and not the “you’ll be gods in the end”.
On the first - it’s effectively flavour we’re arguing about. Having two options for the one raid spot that are roughly equivalent is not an advantage beyond flavour.
Two, you could make the same claim about Ret coming good in the end. That doesn’t fix now and it’s also far from guaranteed that it will pan out that way.
Ret is not a special distinct case. It’s in a similar boat to Fury.
Once you all get your tier sets warrior buff posts will dissapear.
Hope so, we shall see. Other classes get good tier sets this phase too. I really don’t see it making up the difference but who knows, stranger things happen.
so, instead of 1 bad dps spec like paladins had, warriors have 2 bad dps specs lol? also rets have way more utility so…
God, I just realised, Warriors are a democracy simulator!
“You get two bad choices and one is slightly better than the other … Enjoy”.
No they wont, dps war sets that make them good wont come out for at least a year if not longer and prot wars are the ones that need buffed tho most to make the even with pally tanks
This post has a familiar feel to it.
‘Buff us now so we become Super God tier in the future.’ Is the real reason behind warriors crying for buffs.
Thank god Blizzard can see right through this farce and has foresight.
fire mages are supposed to scale late and theyre already scaling hard and doing very well
warriors, not so much.
sims show similar, or even more gains, for other classes over warriors this phase. Assassination rogues are already S+ and get more dps on the sims haha. How do you close a 30-40% void between warriors and other classes when the false rumor that “warriors scale insane” is just not true?
Forget about it. Its over. Blizzard know what the future of warriors is.
I main MM hunter do you see me complaining. No. Cause I am patient and know my spec will improve.
Pally players ignore the fact they have the literal best tank and healer specs in the game. weird, its not like a DPS class can try and tank or heal even average like ret was able to DPS just fine. what a joke like seriously. guys, rogues and mages can’t tank or heal at all. we should buff their specs respectively so they can just like a pally
i swear pally players won’t quit crying until they have the literal best 3 specs in the game lmao
like actually go look at the forums
Pally player: gets 10% DPS buff increase
Also pally player: “wow this is so terrible I can’t believe they’re making us play like this”
What if your raid doesn’t need tanks/healers?
How long does it take to transition from proper DPS to tanking/healing gear?
Should a DPS spec be saddled by the presence of other roles on a class? How hard should the hybrid tax cut?
What if a player who plays a paladin was never interested in tanking or healing? And before you say they are selfish, again, what if the guild/raid doesn’t need tanks/heals?
what if the guild/raid doesn’t need anymore DPS? like what are you even asking these arbitrary questions?
roll a DPS class if you want to be a core competitive damage dealer? have you ever thought about that?
or you just want to have your cake and to eat it too, is what it looks like
sure would be nice for a DPS class to be able to swap between healer/tank/DPS depending on the guilds/raids needs too huh, answer me that no?
Here’s the bottom line I’ll spell it out for you: Paladin players ARE PRIVILEGED. they can swap between a tank spec, healer spec, AND even a DPS spec to fill the needs of the group while other classes cannot. how anyone can consider that they should be good at all three is truly baffling
That’s why they buffed ret, cry louder and mommy will give you a cookie just to shut you up
Oh so Paladins can’t do damage ever. I see your edit. You can’t hide it from me.
And even though you edited it in, I also never said competitive. I was aiming for viable.
Also again, its not so easy to just transition from DPS to healer. You have to have a new set of gear, need to learn how to play a completely different spec, and then there’s the question of loot drops.
As to your bottom line, I can actually contest that.
In the entire lifespan of Classic, there’s actually been a few changes to the game. A few notable class centered ones would be about yes, Paladins. Do you know why that is? Let’s take a look:
In TBC, Ret PVP Gear actually had no resilience on it. This is because Kalgan (one of the original game developers) said that because Ret players can heal themselves, they don’t need resilience…
Yeah. Let that sink in for a minute.
So TBC Classic rolls around, and they rightly add that in.
Let’s also not forget the Seals. Alliance Paladins from Vanilla had been begging the devs for a DPS buff. Seal of Blood was released, and it was given to, guess who? Blood Elves.
Again, this was changed.
Finally, we come to todays buffs.
You say that we are privileged. I see it another way: that we’ve actually been subjected to arbitrary and horrible decisions that have resulted in inferior gameplay. The 2000’s were a hard decade for Paladins, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
The mere existence of such bad decisions was so embarassing and unbalanced that Blizzard had no choice but to compromise their vision and fix the mistakes of the past.
Privileged? I think not.
Lol bro, look at warriors. You paladins just keep playing the victim while ignoring what’s right in front of you it’s hilarious. Also we’re taking about the state of the game right now. No idea why you’re bringing in pointless things about PvP gear from TBC
We can both agree though that the devs make what seem like terribly uninformed decisions willy nilly based on feelscraft as opposed to trying to understand implementing changes and how the game/community will react to it
It’s so funny to me you say aiming for viable when ret was more then viable AND brings tons of utility to the raid. It’s actually laughable.
edit: the fact you think your class should have the best tank and healer specs in the game AND a competitive DPS spec on top of that, then you saying “Privileged? I think not” is evidence enough in itself lmao
