I mean you replied to my comment specifically, I got 9 level 70 Neutrals whose content was fully leveling. So it is a valid option to have it as being ‘the content’ If it wasn’t there I could skip an expansion.
I don’t think we should remove leveling at all.
If you have nothing to level through then it’s not an MMORPG anymore. I think that’s an awful idea.
all I’m saying is that the vast majority of people I see playing retail are only focused on end game content and the game is basically just a lobby where everyone just waits in the new city hub sitting in ques, most of em just burn through the leveling with each new xpac with the sole goal of hitting max level to GET to that end game content. while the vast majority of people I see playing era/classic/sod servers are the ones who love the classic MMO feel and enjoy the journey. stay civil though peeps, no need to troll each other or anything, this is just an opinion i’ve based off of what I’ve seen, I’m in no way saying that I speak for the general consensus
Maybe I’m old school, but I definitely prefer having a leveling system than not. I think it’s just a staple to the genre that can help with pacing, direction and expectation that most people inherently understand, even if they’re only casual versed in the RPG genre.
Even if they got rid of levels, you would most likely still need some sort of bar that fills up, indicating when you get a new talent point. Since just throwing a whole new talent tree or hero talent tree with everything unlocked is likely just to overwhelm people (More than MMOs already do), rather than letting them progress through it slowly and feel out the new skills/passives for a bit as they acquire them.
Sure, leveling in a world where a lot of things scale can be awkward. But I do still think it helps with content pacing/features & skill unlocking in a way that most people inherently understand.
So you are saying I have no soul?
Stop speaking for others, you will always be wrong.
