Retail WoW is unrecognizable

Best thing since sliced bread. Believes me, I knows my sliced breads :bread:

“They’ve changed the iconic UI, my server is dead, all of my old gear and gold is useless, the entire world is adjusted to my level.”
Okay so… you logged back in after years and your old gear is useless. Okay? The level cap was raised; Your gold is less effective because of gold inflation (is what I assume you mean. Not even a valid point); the entire world is adjusted to you. Well that’s not true. That’s just a specific levelling thing. Hold on. THEY CHANGED THE UI??? Unacceptable. Disregard everything I said prior, I stand with you brother. /s

Next time just say what you mean and put “I don’t like change. This game is dead; disregard the size of the player base.”

Hamburglar?!

How dare you!
That was south park :dracthyr_cry_animated:

Retail would be like 1 thousand times better if it has the old classic 1-60 overworld brought back in for chromie time. Deleting this overworld in the cataclysm expansion was a huge mistake in my op.

It would also be 50 times better if it has all of the rpg elements added back in. Things like ammo, being able to actually wield a spear and a bow at the same time on my marksmanship hunter. Weapon skills. ETC. Quivers.

It would also be nice if blizzard would stop changing and deleting stupid things. Like I can’t even cast exorcism on my paladin anymore. Can’t stand that. Wrath has more of a complex class design, and more buttons and talents per class, which is one of the big things I love about classic. Where as with retail, they constantly remove talents and abilities every patch. Less buttons to click, means the class gets more and more boring.

Otherwise I would say retail is pretty awesome. They need to add some of the things that made wrath great back into the retail game in my op in order for me to say it is the best. Because it could be alot better.

Reading through this thread I can tell op has never played retail or classic.

So it seems weird to pay for a sub.

Well… using exaggerated words like “hemorrhaging”, “insane”, “huge” doesn’t help prove your point.

WoW is still one of the most popular mmos. Player count will go up and down based on the age of the season, new games releasing… etc. Player count always spikes at the start of an xpac, start of a new season. We are currently towards the end of a season, so naturally player count would be down. Starfield just launched. Heck even new world just came out with a new expansion.

And classic is not seeing a huge player spike. It’s seen a moderate increase, and that is due to 2 things. Wotlk - you can thank arthas for that. And… hardcore. If you look at player counts, a lot of the wotlk classic players migrated to hardcore.

TL;DR Retail > classic and just wait for hardcore’s new shiny to wear off.

Yeah. I dont as much. Id like the game to return to when it was better though. Thanks for your concern.

Retail leveling 1-60 takes 6 hours at most if you actually put the effort to level instead of playing low effort stuff like vanilla where most specs used like 1 button. 60-70 can be done in 4 hours. Hell, some people did 1-70 in 3-4 hours in some cases. Enjoyable is subjective, but 3-10 hours at most is not grindy in any way or definition.

But keep deluding yourself with false statements like this.

“Like most people”

lmao.

Classic is a bad game.

Weird how its still popular to this day almost twenty years later. I think you just want it to be bad.

Some people like getting kicked in the nuts too. Doesn’t make it a great idea.

Yeah those two scenarios are comparable in the slightest. Log off lil bro.

They aren’t wrong though.

What do you call hardcore classic?
The game wasn’t designed for 1 life, so there are countless unforgiving scenarios. The analogy was pretty fitting to the level grind that is hardcore classic.

And that’s what classic players are playing right now, however dreadfully unfun I find it.

As for my original comment, I don’t think there is a shred of support in existence in the universe for claiming that “most people” haven’t played retail since classic launched in 2019. That’s an absurd statement.

And retail has literally never been better than it is right now.

gonna stop you riiight there.
Classic is an untouchable mess that serves no purpose other than nostalgia baiting the old players

no version of WoW has a battlepass of any kind, and the only official DLC are the expansions

That’s pretty rich coming from a classic player. You’re just getting the same crap and it’s not even repackaged.

Every class plays the same might as well remove class at this point everyone does everything

Hard to argue with this.
