Okay, so you’re afraid that Blizzard will cave and implement changes unless you oppose them so vehemently?
I didn’t start the thread so i have no clue the intention behind OP.
But I can see dads throwing nails at bees too, honestly. Not saying he or you are wrong btw, just never heard it that way till now.
Kind of. It’s a bit more than that but if you boil it down then that’s probably the simplest way to look at it. Classic is a museum piece. Maybe eventually in a couple years changes can be made on separate servers. But it JUST launched.
You think what you’re doing is convincing people to stop asking for changes? I think it’s emboldening them.
Well, like I said, got a kid with adhd and odd. That plus massive painsomnia, I got plenty of time and patience. Eventually they do indeed give up. Now this is only for people wanting to change classic, mind you. If there is conversation later where it’s possible to continue on to new content after classic or some form of Classic+ on separate servers then that is different than asking for changes in Classic. But that’s a long ways off before Blizzard would even consider that. Finally found the link I needed to prove it as well. I knew I had seen it somewhere but couldn’t remember where and someone found the exact link in another thread.
Saying no over and over again isn’t going to make a difference. It doesn’t matter to me what you say because in the end it’s Blizzard’s choice. It’s not going to stop people from voicing their opinions.
A month ago this thread would have been flooded with nochangers insulting people and making arguments with moving goal posts. Yet not many around, perhaps getting banned for endlessly insulting people maybe.
More and more threads are popping up for QoL changes. Even green texts have asked for some. It’s just how it is. You nochangers think you own Classic but you really don’t. I play Horde and Alliance on two of the most populated servers and you guys are nowhere to be seen. I’ve met maybe 2 nochangers and both agreed that an option to turn off any armor piece would be cool.
Since you’re right and all you got nothing to worry about but it’s still early. Let’s visit this in 3-6 months time.
I’ll be the devils advocate as I stated in another post:
"If we were to entertain changing things, we would be applying our modern judgment and our modern values and a modern take of game design on a project that’s meant to be a preservation project.”
This is why the #nochanges group is so opposed. We all can agree Retail is a dumpster fire. You really want the above (Blizz’s current vision) applied to Classic? That is their worry.
Wouldn’t expect any news before phase 5, honestly. Phase 4-6 are probably going to see their largest steady numbers and invreases as those are the most iconic raids/ptch events. And they said it might possible later based on popularity.
It’s always about popularity. Blizzard is gauging if Classic will be viable to invest in or not. Honestly I don’t think they expected it to be popular at all. If the servers are still busy I imagine they’ll be thinking on what to do.
Blizzard is a business after all.
I do agree that they underestimated how popular it would be.
Get back in the forest!
The word wasn’t nails it was vinegar. But yes the same concept applies.
The problem however is when a person is told by both Blizzard and by people who actually know why Classic was made to begin with and the fact that it is NEVER meant to be changed, and yet these people STILL insist on making pointless threads in these forums begging Blizzard to give them what they want over and over and over again…Yes our patience tends to wear thin after a while.
How many times can you say no to a child before you lose patience??? It’s the same concept only in this case they’re grown adults who can’t accept the fact that things in the game are meant to stay the way they are as a time capsule/museum piece.
That would literally be like going to play an Assassin’s Creed game and then wanting certain aspects of it to change because you don’t like them and want to make it easier or somehow more appealing and begging Ubisoft to change it just for YOU. Has anyone ever in the history of video games ever gone and done something like this for a PlayStation game or a Nintendo game??? Do you not see how foolish this is???
I haven’t seen a thread yet about fixing classes, only about classes not working as they did in vanilla. That’s why I assumed you were talking about bugs since you didn’t clarify.
I’ve seen a couple of threads asking for balance among classes in PvP. Blizzard has already stated that if they were to ever touch class balance in Classic, that we would be getting the same balancing that is present in retail. This means class homogenization as well so no thank you
Thanks for being reasonable and understanding my point of view as to why I wish players would accept Classic for what it is.
If they don’t like it, that’s too bad. If they do like it great, anything but trying to incorporate modern features to a recreated version of the game before expansions and features brought with it.
While i am i would say on the no change side, it does sound pretty silly to refuse quality of life changes - its like insisting on going out of your way to make 3 left turns rather than simply making a right hand turn, when your destination is on the right
Well, that’s the rub though. I’m playing the advocate and trying to help people see others perspective.
I played back in Vanilla and am really enjoying Classic.
But the ideas on the other side of the river aren’t bad ideas, not all of them are great, but an extension of Classic with 60 still being the cap with additional, new story and content would be amazing.
What do you consider QoL?
So long as it is kept separate and completely optional that’s fine. but the problem is that most Classic+ advocates want to replace Classic with it.
The excuse that they use is that it will split the player base even more and whatever other nonsense drivel they decide to spout off, but the reality of it is, most of them just want to sabotage the Classic project because they didn’t want it to begin with.
It’s like the story of the red hen making bread and nobody was willing to help her throughout all of the steps between picking the wheat, grinding the flour, etc. But once that bread was made however everyone had their hand out expecting a slice. This is how I view the Classic+ people and anyone else who wants changes, yes even aesthetic or QoL changes.
And I know full well that once the expansions get announced to be coming by Blizzard, we will end up having to go through the same process all over again in pushing for #nochanges and telling people they can’t have what they want in the game. If it didn’t exist when the expansion was current it shouldn’t exist in the re-release. Nothing added nothing removed. #Nochanges is universal here
Logistically, as it stands, it won’t happen because there would be 3 different content clients needing management, 2 would need new content. (Classic+ and Retail).
Only way that happens is if Retail were to end and they begin Classic+ anew.
But then that would mean Blizz admits Retail is sinking and Classic is actually where the playerbase wants to be.
