no it’s cope that it will be easier to play than retail and thinking they won’t get gatekept by lfg and rank 1 streamers but they find out it’s actually even worse than retail for casual players and as soon as the paychecks from blizz go away all the streamers insta quit and the ques are dead within a month or two

this may shock you, but no one cares about pvp. that’s why it’s dead. nothing to with cata
Just because we’re the minority doesn’t mean “nobody” cares. Cata is 100% taking a good chunk of the pvp community from retail, even if it’s only temporary. Some will play both too, but that means they queue retail less.

yea IMO it’s pretty low IQ to go back to only go forward again.
I just don’t understand the logic to revisit any of it whether I can farm a rare mount out of it or not.

Cata PvP is a lot more interesting than Retail PvP, but the barrier to entry is 10000% higher.
RSS may be braindead PvE rotations and triple overlapping CC on a DR’d healer, but at least I get to play it.

Honestly cata seems dead (relative to other classic expansion releases) given it just launched and the only ones who seem to be playing it are die-hard classic guilds and streamers.
They seem to only que into each other at various MMR ranges. Maybe everyone just hasn’t leveled yet or something.

I like long cc with counterplay. I dont like short cc and micro in excess. I also prefer old style dispel, & i only pvp so expansions dont really mean anything to me outside of changing class design in a favorable/unfavorable way.
Before classic came out / SL i swore up & down id never play it. But then live just got exponentially less fun with each expansion for me on a subjective level.
Its subjective at best. But what do you find interesting about retail pvp? Id also say cata is more interesting but i wouldnt say its preferable to tbc / wotlk for example. Its a low bar for me to say something is more interesting than DF.

I’m still having a decent amount of fun in blitz brawl.
But the rest of retail is generally dead for me.
I skipped the a majority of the Dragonflight campaign on my most recent two alts. Honestly, at this point if we previously completed the campaign 2+ times, we should be able to skip 90% of it on the rest of our alts. I especially hate the caverns part of the campaign. Ugh… just thinking about it makes me want to hit the cancel subscription button.

I loved cata back in the day.
But every time I try to watch a pvp streamer play cata,
To me atleast. Its the most boring thing on possibly the entire platform.
IDK how there has been any boost to twich views at all.
But its probably just because its a new thing. And there is a lot of classic andys.
I refuse to believe its actually entertaining xD

Well ok these are just our opinions. There’s no objective “interesting scale.”
Cata is oddly populated tho. Either I’m missing something or it’s just a bandwagon thing due to streamers. Some say it’s due to sponsorships, but idk.
