Its a real Catch-22 isn’t it
I’m a raider/PVPer on Crystal and I agree that there are loads of great players on that DC still. I’m pretty happy there
This post reminds me of someone driving 35 on the freeway and wondering why people are honking at them.
This content has been out for a long while. Slide to a DPS role and observe the routes first or watch a few videos.
obviously im not condoning their childish behavior but I’m also here to let you know you were equally at fault at not doing any homework.
Yes it’s a game and yea it’s meant to be fun but realize fun for others is getting stuff done efficiently.
Hope you don’t let a few bad apples taint your opinion of the community further. There are many newer player friendly communities out there as a resource.
Have fun!
you cant make 2million people be nice without using force. thats the bid diff between the 2 games blizz CoC is way dif, where if i don’t think you’re doing enough damage/healing w/e metric I choose I can remove you with Zero repercussion’s.
In ff that’s false if I say you’re not doing enough damage. ill get in trouble . the “you don’t pay my sub” when you tell another dps to aoe when there’s more than 3 mobs on the screen is toxic just on the other end of the spectrum.
The honest answer is: Random Mythics isn’t the place to learn Mythics. Sadly, that’s how it is. Mythics of any level is treated as a competition, not as training. You don’t do Mythics (even 0) in a PUG to learn. You get friends, guild mates, or join specially made groups for that.
Mythics and Raiding are rated and/or competitive and are treated as though you have already learned the mechanics to compete, especially as it’s cooperative. In the same line of thinking, you wouldn’t join a row team and then show up the day of the competition and go, “Okay, so how do these oars work, exactly? Why are you guys angry? Just teach me how to use them during the competition.”
The way they handled it is wrong, sure. Doesn’t exactly speak highly of them as people or players. But they also probably entered the group with an expectation everyone knew what they were doing.
Exactly. Guilds are the place to learn Mythics. Pugs are where you go when you know the fights, and want to run Mythics outside of your guild. I don’t think that is an unreasonable situation as well.
Blizzard should have explored the MoP training feature a little bit more.
ilv+medal=M+?
just to separate the wheat from the chaff.
tbh im not sure how they do it. without creating a larger rift in the community and would spark a US v Them mentality. even more so than GD thinks there is.
No. OP is right and you were a perfect example of that. Retail community is all about putting people down. Just like you did with that comment.
WoTLK classic I was on a newly made toon. Some random person gave me 50g just because he was quitting. And other stuff like that happens all the time in Classic. In retail everyone only insults eachoter.
So… you didn’t play vanilla eh… cause people calling out other people in vanilla was wow 101. As for FFXIV, I resubbed a couple months ago, was thrown in the newcomer channel with a bunch of toxic people and left real quick.
If you want a good community, pick your guild and communities wisely is all.
^ If you’re in an actual guild, your friends in the guild will be more than happy to teach you and help you grow. If for no other reason than that it ultimately benefits them if their teammates are better at the game.
But random strangers that you’ll never see again? Once upon a time, maybe, but I think a lot of people are just tired of people showing up like they’re god’s gift to the universe, demanding that other people stop whatever they’re doing and teach them how to play. Especially since we all know that they’re just going to quit again, anyway.
The rift is there because players have drastically different opinions on what is “good”.
It’s really not that bad.
Don’t play CS:GO, btw
It is bad when people put themselves in situations that they are not ready for.
Honestly FFXIV and classic may have “nicer” communities but they also seem more fake and passive aggressive and full of fanboys and nostalgia obsessed weirdos.
thats just people in general differing idea’s is kinda a human thing hows blizz gonna control that.
that was my point the CoC from SE holds the community in almost a tyranny of niceness. where its be kind or get banned
Idk everyone in those games just seems old or creepy (or just really out of touch). Just my experience.
Personally, Idc what age they are as long as they aren’t rude just cause that’s apart of their character.
classic is way worse… though the game as a whole is bad
It’s just the m+ community. They think slapping a timer on a dungeon in five man content makes them end game. The loot says yea because blizz made a loot trough for dungeon runners.
Now every one in m dungeons feels like they are in some kind of calf roping event if the tank isn’t pulling fast enough they will pull for him. If you don’t know the way shame on u. How dare I set foot into carebear land without knowing stuff!
Lawl my advice get with guild and raid and pvp. Don’t do m+ it’s garbage content
