This has been happening to rets all season, suddenly linking a video of a dk getting killed w/o using any of its 20 defensives proves something.
Nobody wanted SL s1 ret again but since it’s clear it’s the same clownfest might want to actually pop a few buttons when the ret becomes a christmas tree.
Here’s a hint, crusader strike and blade of justice aren’t killing you, that’s what got buffed.
I don’t see any nerfs to the spec in the near future since everything else about the spec is basically in shambles, nobody likes this, even the ret players lol.
How should you die then? Slowly? In this meta where every healer can insta top you off from 10%hp? Cmon man, use your brain. Everyone has some type of burst in their kit because its needed to secure kills. That video is a poor show of how “op” anything is as many people have said above. Not to mention, Ret’s burst isnt just a one button macro press, they have the most button bloat of any dps spec in the game, literally like 3 multipliers ontop of multipliers that need to be done before the damage comes out.
i cant imagine being in the mind set of thinking that having to use ANY single 1 cooldown into a rets 6 cooldowns and a warriors 3 is an “over trade” LOL
just use something and then win with a .1 second cast time 0 cd mass dispel on the rets only defensive after hitting for a 200k damnation catharsis
“I should have used something.” They obviously think Ret damage is so bad they don’t need to use any defensives at all, well I guess they found out how wrong they were. Deserve to lose if you watch the glowing Paladin run up to you and use EVERYTHING to try and kill you while you don’t even hit a single defensive spell, DK ESPECIALLY has no room to whine, they have the anti Ret defensive toolkit.

First game was literally the same matchup, same people, and they lost again
Its okay to get hit with 180k Glacial Spikes though right. Or Ele’s lava bursts? or the Hunt? or or or. Ret paladin has so much set up before he can pump like that. Seraphim, Wings, Final reckoning, then needs 3 more holy power to cast radiant decree (even though seraphim costs 3 just to buff) people don’t realize that its not just a button press. Most people don’t have aware in arena and dont pay attention to what’s being done. If you are aware then do something about it not just try to face tank it and then complain that it killed you.
yeah i was saying the same thing when my class literally lights up with serenity and ppl still didn’t press buttons and my burst ended up getting nerfed, same thing will happen 2 ret.
Give it time. Obviously there’s few high rated rets because of 1. Spriests dominance / having .2 sec MD and 2. Started out the Xpack B dumpster tier. EU changes just hit today. Plus more will start getting tier. The ret warrs will begin coming out of the woodwork I promise
stop trying to justify a 250k hit on a 350k health pool, there is absolutely no ability in the game that should hit that hard regardless of any circumstance
