Literally why did Blizz just buff this class into pure stupidity out of nowhwere
Like I almost would rather go back to balance pre-Tuesday changes just to get rid of the current monstrosity that ret is again

For the 100th time. The ret buffs were not massive by any means. I don’t understand why you people post on here thinking that all the sudden rets burst is crazier than it was. They got a 45% damage buff on an ability that was hitting for auto attack damage. They got a 15k dmg buff on a one minute cooldown with final reckoning. Is ret burst good? yes, but that’s because it has to be because they are otherwise useless. Ret is a pub stomper, their damage is easily avoidable and reactable. Once they blow their load they are essentially worthless, but I hate to break it to you, you aren’t dying to any rets this week that you weren’t dying to last week. Maybe focus more on classes that actually need to be nerfed because I assure you ret paladin isn’t one of them.

Yeah no, this is super disingenuous, especially with more rets having access to tier their burst damage is now ridiculousy stupid and toxic. I can literally PI a ret on my priest and they will chunk people’s HP they’re not even targeting.

Guess we’ll let the statistics speak for themselves then but ret is doing significantly more damage with buffs and access to tier and the burst is toxic gameplay. Feels like Shadowlands again. Everyone will be crying about ret/arms once arms gets ignore pain back too, just wait.

I’m not saying its healthy by any means. Rets want mobility and defensives. They need a rework. But as it stands their burst is the only thing making them viable so to nerf it would make them useless. It is true though that the burst was already there, the buffs didn’t do much to it. ALSO the tier set bonus for ret is actually really bad
2 set bonus buffs jugement, blade of justice, and wake of ashes by %15
4 set bonus TV/FV and Divine storm increased by 10%
While the 2 set bonus is okay, the 4 set almost seems worthless because JV is better even when you talent into Final Verdict. JV should be baked into the FV talent tree because having to choose JV feels bad especially with the tier set bonus.
Honestly I feel like MM double tap rapid fire spam is much more unenjoyable than ret paladin burst to play against. At least with ret you know not to stack on him when wings are up like in the above video. It’s very apparent and easy to kite and get away from because they have 0 mobility.

i dunno, if u stand in a spear during avatar with sweeping strikes up and a ret using every cooldown they have into u and you dont pop any defensives u should probly die tbh
the evoker could have time dilated the dk instead of the priest or the dk could have used zone or ams or icebound and they woulda lived
i dont think arena would be very fun if you could just trade nothing into that and be fine

yea yea yea type all u want tryna defend it, all wws tried 2 defend thunderfist/strike of the wind lord as well with the same argument and it still got gutted, def expect a 40-50% nerf 2 radiant decree.

I think your right. Enhance got a nurf to their burst and they were climbing the ladder at about the same pace as Ret, a couple of the worst melee specs in the game. Enhance went from poor to pretty terrible.

It’s all a moot point to debate. When evokers and Dks are crying about ret you know it’s not a ret issue. They should be hoping that ret becomes the most popular class as they hard counter rets.
I don’t think damage has changed in a meaningful way since last week. The big change was the shield change. Either way they’re clearly stated in the notes they have bigger changes in store which I suspect means we’re finally getting our dragonflight talent trees in 10.0.5
i dunno, ww could just go solo someone instantly by themself, that ret needed the war to get the double spear vs a triangle formation team (pimpressive) and the assistance of the warrior popping every CD + every single one of their CDs that takes like 5+ globals
pretty easy to react to it if im being honest (and it should kill someone if they dont react) AND they needed that to crit
not to mention that none of the abilities that were buffed had any part to play on that kill
if i had to guess, id guess that they probably didn’t lose to that team a 2nd time

No it’s fine guys you should absolutely be able to die within 2 seconds of being opened on and get executed from 50% hp whenever spear and wings are up. Not toxic gameplay at all. Very fun and rewarding for all involved. Just over trade every cooldown on your team and hope you can still live through it. Good luck on the next one or two.

You ironically just developed the strat that has been used for ages to beat ret. You see their telegraphed burst → you trade. They now have no kill pressure, they have no sustain, they have no ability to escape, and they are very squishy. You just kill them, and profit.
