Easy to understand playstyle. priority system and build/spend instead of a strict piano rotation.
mix of melee and mid-ranged combat.
mix of melee and magic.
heavy armor battlemage fantasy
great aesthetics and skill effects.
self-healing, and can be supportive if needed.
seemingly interesting tank alt-spec that i can switch to for a change of pace/if my guild needs it.
and in the case of my Paladin, being a Blood Elf, lore and background that I absolutely adore because it is a Holy Knight without necessarily having to actually be a religious zealot.
so why had my Paladin been sitting unnused for so long while I screw around with alt-itis? bleh.
probably because…well everyone is a Paladin in seems.
and tbh I am not sure why that bothers me so much. classes are popular for a reason, right? not being able to swing a stick without hitting one shouldn’t dissuade me from playing a class that I enjoy.
anyway, don’t mind me, I am just musing because phones are slow, there are not a lot of emails to work on, I’m bored on the clock and I can’t play Warframe 1999 yet because that would actually require me to pay full attention which I can’t do while I am on the clock.
Paladin is arguable the best class in game for dps and tanking currently.
It isn’t even hard to play… lots of defensives, check, lots of Utility, check, lots of single and Aoe damage, check, battle rez, check, on and on oh and like a 7 button rotation
Ill never understand caring about what somebody else is doing when it doesnt effect you or harm anyone. Let them mind their own business, and you mind yours.
The only reason I can’t play paladin is because it’s so good it makes me enraged that they did such a good job with it while all the other classes are in the state they are in.
DPS rotations have gotten so complex that I just don’t even want to bother any more. I’m really glad there are still DPS specs like Ret, Fury, Havoc, and Devastation.
paladin is one of the most popular archetypes in all of fantasy. In any game that they’re in there’s pretty high odds that they’ll be one of the most popular options, strong or not.
the knight in shining armor is iconic.
especially since blizzard decided to theme warriors as raging anger meatheads instead of any sort of knight, paladin is the only class that actually fills the knight niche.
me personally im just waiting on more race options to open up. i like the playstyle, i don’t like having to be a human/dwarf/spacegoat/tauren/blood elf/zandalari
I love my Blood Elf Paladin, that Race/Class combo is just about what I would want from an MMORPG. A lot of people feel the same way.
But, they can get crowded. Raid groups want some RDPS in the mix.
You could say that about almost any class. People really want a Warlock in their group. After they have one, they look for other classes. But there may be another group out there looking for a Warlock.
only thing I dislike about it is the 2H Sword combat stance, tbh. it’s awkard-looking as all get-out. but then the actual melee animations are very nice.
